1. S.I.G General Rules:
1.0 All hosts are required to check for Name Spoofers before starting a game. This can be done by asking all players to whisper you or by doing a /whois of all players in the game. See the FAQ for more details on how to check for Name Spoofers.
1.1 You must have the right Battle.Net account entered in your profile before signing up for a Single Instant Game (S.I.G). If you sent a b.net-account change request before playing a SIG, check if your b.net-account was already changed or not to avoid using the wrong account.
1.2 All the rules in the "Community" category also apply in Single Instant Games.
1.3 Deliberate abuse of the Single Instant Games, i.e mass joining or entering wrong results is forbidden.
1.4 The mode for Single Instant Games is always shown in the description and must be the played mode in that game. (exceptions are remakes)
1.5 The current map version for Single Instant Games is 6.52. You can download the map from www.getdota.com. Please only download the map from there, other sources may be corrupt/fake.
1.6 The host MUST write in the game comments that he is the host as soon as he has hosted the game (in both Ladder and Single Instant Games).
1.7 After the game status has changed to "active" and the game is hosted, players have 5 minutes to join the game. Make sure that your b.net is working before you join a SIG.
1.8 If a player does not join the game he receives -10 as a leaver would.
1.9 You are allowed to close the game as soon as 5 minutes after it became active have passed and there is no host comment.
1.10 Every player is responsible to move into the right team. If the team you are supposed to be in is full, you should tell the other players so you can rejoin in the correct team.
1.11 Playing in the wrong team is forbidden.
1.12 The host can start the game when everyone thinks that the teams are correct.
1.13 All communication MUST be in English in the game comments, and in the Pre-Game Chat Lounge.
1.14 If the S.I.G becomes active with a playercount other than 10/10 (e.g. 9/10 players) it must be closed.
2. S.I.G Ingame rules:
2.0 The player in the first Sentinel slot (blue) must type in the correct game mode when the game starts.
2.1 If the wrong game mode is entered, or none is entered, the game must be remade with someone else in the first Sentinel slot. Obviously no game mode is entered for -pick.
2.2a If during the game anyone notices that the teams are not correct before 5 minutes of game time and before first blood, the game must be remade. If 5 minutes have already passed or first blood has already occurred, the game must be closed and the players in the wrong team will receive -10.
2.2b If during the game you notice that there is a player in the game that is not in the SIG, the game must be closed.
2.2c If during the game you notice that there is a spoofer in the game, the game must be closed and/or reported.
2.3 If someone is AFK (Away From Keyboard - ie. not responding to anything in the game) at the game start (0-2 minutes), the game must be paused for 1 minute to wait for him. After 1 minute the game can be resumed. If he is still AFK 5 minutes after the pause, the game will be closed and the person who went AFK will be given -10 (set him as Leaver/didn't show up).
2.4 If a player disconnects before 5 minutes of game time and before first blood, you MUST remake the game (do not wait for him to whisper or write in comments). Only 1 remake for disconnect/leave is allowed. If anyone disconnects before 5 minutes or first blood in the remake, the game must be closed. The player that disconnects in the remake will receive -10. A game cannot be remade after 5 minutes or after first blood REGARDLESS OF THE MODE. Note the difference between "remake" and "rehost". The host of the remake must be the origional host UNLESS 3 rule 2.5a applies OR the host agrees that somebody else should host the remake.
2.5a If 3 or more players have massive lags, delay or spikes (at any point in the game), the game must be paused, saved and rehosted if there is another host available. All the players cannot be from the same team - 1 must lag from Sentinel and Scourge. To be counted as a lagger, you have to write in all-chat that you have lags/delay/spikes. The host of the new game CANNOT be one of the players who lagged (except in rule 2.5b). A game can be rehosted at any point during the game. Note the difference between "rehost" and "remake".
2.5b If 5 players or more (at least 1 from each team) have lags/delay, the host of the new game CAN be one of the players who lagged.
2.5c If 5 players or more (at least 1 from each team) have lags/delay, 10 minutes have not passed and there is no other host available, the game can be closed.
2.6a In the remake the mode MUST always be -ap regardless of what it was before (unless it was -pick OR rule 2.6b applies) and you must pick the hero you had before. If you typed -random you are allowed to type -random again in the remake. You may only type -random if you actually typed it last time. If the mode was -ar for example you must pick the hero the map chose for you in -ar (or the hero you repicked into in the -ar game). and you must keep it or swap it. You may not repick it in the -ap remake in order to obtain a hero of your choice.
2.6b If the mode was -rd and not everyone had picked heroes, the mode must be -rd again in the remake and you may pick any hero. If the mode was -rd and all players had picked then rule 2.6a applies.
2.6c If the mode was -armm (VIP only), the mode in the remake must be -apdu and you must pick the same heroes you had in the game before.
2.7 A game may not be saved when it is not necessary. Abusing the save function in order to drop other players from to game to avoid getting a bad score yourself is not tolerated.
2.8a If one hero disconnects or leaves after 5 minutes or first blood mark him as Leaver/didn't show up.
2.8b You are allowed to: 1) Use the hero and with the SAME items he had when the player disconnected and/or 2) Teamsell all the items from the hero.
2.8c You are not allowed to take the items for yourself or sell them from any other unit apart from the leaver's hero. If the leaver had a courier, check that the items in here belonged to him and not to someone he had given control to. This rule means that you CAN teamsell the items and still use the leaver, but you cannot use the leaver's hero instead of your own. You also cannot put any more items on the leavers hero - it must be used with the items it had when he left, or with none.
2.9a The game is over when: 1) The tree or the throne has been destroyed 2) If all players from a team write "ff" (forfeit). If all the players in a team have typed ff (in ALL CHAT) the game is over and they have lost. You cannot ff before 30 minutes game time except in the circumstance in rule 2.9b. If you forfeit, you wont be able to unforfeit (not to forfeit).
2.9b You may ff after 20 minutes game time if you had a leaver on your team.
2.9c You may ff at any time if you have 2 or more leavers than the other team.
2.9d Misleading other people in the game by not admitting you have/haven’t ff’ed is not allowed and will be punished.
2.10a If a player leaves the game before it is over (see rule 2.9) he must be marked as "Leaver/didn't show up". This is the same even if he left 2 seconds before the end of the game.
2.10b If you leave/disconnect from a game before it is over (see rule 2.9) you must close the game and mark yourself as "Leaver/didn't show up".
2.11 Any player who is AFK for over 5 minutes during a game must be marked as Leaver/didn't show up" when you enter the result of the game. This includes being AFK at different times e.g 2 minutes + 2 minutes + 2 minutes = 6 minute AFK. Any player who has been AFK for over 5 minutes is classed as having auto-ffed. If you’re not sure how long a player was AFK, don’t mark him (and / or report the game if he doesn’t get his –10.)
2.12 Purposeful disconnecting, better known as plugging, is forbidden and will be punished.
2.13 Leaving or disconnecting multiple times is considered abuse and will result in harsher penalties.
2.14 ALL communication MUST be in English. This means BOTH All Chat AND Team Chat. If you want to use another language use the whisper function of BattleNet, Teamspeak, Ventrilo or similar programs. Speaking any language other than English will be treated as bad manners and punished accordingly. However, if you ask for permission from your teammates and they ALL agree, you may speak other languages in team chat. If even one player declines this request, you must speak English.
2.15 Every player has a right to a 30 second pause during the game. Players may give their pause to another player but a single pause may not last for more than one minute (Pause used by two players), after which the game may be resumed. The game cannot then be repaused until 5 minutes have passed. You must announce in all chat that you are going to pause 3 seconds before you do. Also announce 3 seconds before you unpause.
2.16 Item limits: maximum of two necromicons per team. The two first players with necromicons are allowed to keep them. If any other players make it they must sell it or they will receive the same score as leavers (-10) and will get punished further with Penalty Points.
2.17 Any abuse of bugs is forbidden - if you find a bug ingame please post it on the "Bugs and Improvements" section of the forums.
2.18 Purposeful game ruining is forbidden - this means purposeful feeding, suiciding, item stealing from your own team, etc. You may pick up items dropped by an enemy courier or enemy hero and use/sell them, but you can't give these items to teammates. This includes Divine Rapier - the player that picks it up must use it or leave it in the base. Deliberately giving items to enemies is classed as game ruining and will be punished.
2.19 Aegis of the Immortal is shareable between allies.
2.20 In -vr mode, the game should be paused for 30 seconds at the start so that everyone can have a good look at the teams before they vote.
3. S.I.G After Game Rules:
3.1 Every player has to enter the right result after the game. You can not sign up for a new game before entering the result for the old one. Always be careful when entering results as entering the wrong team as winning, forgetting a leaver, closing the game even though there was a winner or marking wrong people as leavers may be punished.
3.2 If you notice that wrong results have been entered and the result is not changing, please post a support message with all the necessary details on it. Remember to include proof in the form of a screenshot or replay. If a leaver wasn't marked, a replay is needed to show that his team didn't ff.
3.3 All writing in the comments MUST be in English.
3.4 If all players dropped with a fatal error the game must always be closed, no matter how close to the end. If only one player drops because of a fatal error, this player must be marked as leaver/didn’t show up.
3.5 If the server splits and you can recognise that it has split, the game must always be closed, no matter how close to the end. Server split means that the game is splitted into 2 games. If the host disconnects and takes some players with him, it’s a close game and –10 for the host only. Use the whisper function to make sure if there are 2 games or not and/or if the host is still online in b.net. Always whisper more than 1 player in this case to make sure if there was a server split or not. Take a screenshot as proof.
3.6 You may only mark players as "Leaver/Didn't show up" if they
* left/disconnected from a game;
* were AFK for over 5 minutes in total;
* did not show up 5 minutes after the game became active and the host stated in comments that he is the host;
* broke rule 2.16;
* or if rule 2.2a applies.
Encouraging players to give others -10 for feeding/bad playing etc WILL be punished.
4. S.I.G Bugs and restrictions:
4.0 Bug using may result in a Default Loss.
4.1 Creep skipping/backdooring is forbidden. This means you are not allowed to attack towers or other buildings without creep support.
4.2a "Creep support" means that the tower is in range of attacking creeps - even if the creeps do not choose to attack the tower or vice versa. You do not have to cancel your attack if all creeps are dead.
4.2b Converted or summoned creeps are not counted as creep support, only the creeps belonging to The Sentinel and The Scourge (red & light green).
4.2c You don’t have to wait for your creeps to arrive until you’re allowed to attack enemy creeps.
4.3 You are allowed to attack any building in enemy base if there were friendly (non-converted and non-summoned) creeps in the base when you entered. You do not have to leave/stop attacking if all creeps are dead. E.g - creeps enter the top entrance of base and start attacking the tower/barracks. You can enter the base by any entrance and attack any base buildings as long as you entered while creeps were in the base. You may stay as long as you want.
Attacking lane towers will still be considered backdooring unless creeps from that lane have reached it
4.4a A team is not allowed to buy items for other players, but sharing healing/clarity potions, tangos, ring of health/regeneration, gem of truesight, wards, voidstone, sobimask, Bottle, perseverance (check rule 4.4b) and a courier is allowed. This courier may be upgraded to a crow by any other player, but once this is done, you may not unshare with that player. Be careful during sharing because you can accidently build recipe items.
4.4b If your teammate wants to use your perseverance to regenerate, he has to disassemble it instantly (by clicking at it once).
4.4c If you accidently build recipe items because of item-sharing, you have to disassemble them immediately at your circle of power if possible. If this isn’t possible, the accidently built item has to stay in the base until the one who carried it has re-bought the item(s) of the other player that were used to accidently form the recipe item. After rebuying the items of the other player, the player who carried the recipe item when it was built is allowed to take it from the base and use it.
4.5 It is forbidden to destroy a dropped ally's item without permission from the ally, unless it is in immediate danger of getting picked up by an enemy. Same goes for Aegis when it was dropped by Roshan.
4.6 You can use other heroes to buy your items as long as you use your money and the bought items are not used by this hero. You can use allied heroes to carry your items if your inventory is full, but they must NOT use them – they’re not allowed to attack creeps/heroes if they carry an attack-dmg / stat-alternating item, and they aren’t allowed to kill creeps with radiance's damage aura if they carry it for you. If you accidently build recipe items this way, rule 4.4c applies.
4.7 Completely closing the entrance to either base using Earthshakers Fissure skill is forbidden.
4.8 It is not allowed to block creeps with the use of spells, such as Fissure, Sprout or other spells which hinder your own creeps from getting to their destination. However, you may use fissure to completely block a lane outside the base if it's done with the intention of killing a hero.
4.9 You may only block creeps by physically intercepting them and only with your hero model. You MAY NOT use summoned and / or converted units for creep blocking.
