New or used ones are easy to install just plug and play but before that, they need to be coded by BMW PC at your local dealer. Used ones are coded to their respective bike and its accessories, the new coding at your local dealer will erase and write on your bikes specs. Part nos are 62117713639 and 62117713640 and in Europe they cost around 900 euros. You can visit http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/f [...] d=03192010 for a look on prices

Peut-être si tu en as la possibilité de rechercher un compteur de f800R pour maximiser tes chances Mais bon, c'est assez touchy comme opération : Citation :
Ok this is probably the definitive wrap up of this topic, and might be a useful addition to the Hall Of Wisdom Used panels can't be swapped onto an F Series bike as the CANBUS codes all it's modules to have the Chassis number etc so they all talk to each other, swapping one out will cause issues. This can't be overcome by the BMW diagnostic computer If you have a dead / smashed unit there may be a few options - Repair, depending on whats broken and whether you have a donor unit for the required bits.See the URL below for the instrument techs - New unit, go online and check out the price, there are definitely some significant variations in the price you'll pay - 2nd hand, can't be used as is, but with the attention of these guys you may be able to wipe the unit and write new software onto it (so the BMW computer will read it as a new unit and allow it to be synched up) http://www.robinsoninstruments.co.nz/

I know its an very old topic but I would like to add my recent experience... Bought my ST who came without the computer. Seen/read a topic about it on a German F800 forum. They claimed it was possible to upgrade the F800 with the computer... Bought a used instrument panel and did the swap myself. Fitted a second hand switch unit in order to have the "info" knob and installed a seconhand temp bulb... All is working without warnings except for the temp indication. As expected so I drove to BMW to have the temp indication function "activated" and to have my original mileage transferred/indicated on my tacho... Turns out that it is not possible. Its not clear if its possible to upgrade the bike with the instrument panel with computer, awaiting feedback from BMW. The German forum mentiones that it should work with the older instrument panels up to march 2008... I dont expect BMW to come with a possitive answer... I believe I cannot complain, after all its all working except for the temp indication. The mileage is just a matter of making a simple calculation as I recorded both the "old" and "new" mileage...
