LoL Fantasy and Bracket Competition FAQ

General FAQ:

1. I cannot remember my user name and/or password. How can I access my account? Users can reset their account password and get a username reminder via e-mail on the lost password page.

2. Are the LoL Fantasy League and LoL Bracket Competition services free to use? YES! Boss Minion is proud to offer free versions of both the LoL Fantasy League and LoL Bracket Competition apps. Joining a paid premiere league to compete for prizes is completely optional.

3. How do I create an account on bossminion.com? Simply navigate to our Registration page and follow the steps there. It’s that easy!

4. How do I join the public LoL Fantasy or public LoL Bracket Competition Leagues? Everyone who registers on bossminion.com is automatically added to the public leagues for both the LoL Fantasy Competition and the LoL Bracket Competition.

5. How can I join a private league my friends made in the LoL Fantasy Competition? Private leagues can be found on the Join/Create a League page. Please note: Private leagues that are password protected will not appear in the default league listing. You will need to enter the league name in the search bar to find and join a password-protected league.

6. How can I create a private league for me and my friends in the LoL Bracket Competition? As of right now, private leagues are not available in the LoL Bracket Competition. Users can play in the public league and any of the paid premiere leagues. We hope to add this feature soon! In the meantime, you can still make private leagues in the LoL Fantasy Competition.

7. How do I change my e-mail address? You can change your e-mail information on  your account settings page. Move your mouse pointer to the top right hand corner of the bossminion.com site and hover over the gray bar that says “Howdy, *username*”. A drop down will appear. Click on “Edit My Profile”, then in the middle of the profile page, click on “Settings”. When you are finished making changes, click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.

8. Can I leave a LoL Fantasy Competition league after I’ve joined it? As of right now, users cannot leave a league that they have joined. This is to prevent users who have paid for a premiere league from accidently quitting and losing their points. If you really need to leave a league, contact us in the Forums, Twitter, or Facebook and we will take care of it.

9. How do I create a new private or public league in the LoL Fantasy Competition? To create a new league, navigate to the Join/Create a League page. Once there, look for the text entry bar near the middle of the page next to the “Create League” button. Type in your new league’s name, and then click the button. You will then be prompted to enter a league password (optional). Leagues without passwords are visible and join-able by anyone. We strongly recommend using a password to create a private league experience.

10. How do I invite my friends to join my private LoL Fantasy League? After you have created a private league following the steps in Tip #9, you will see a blue button titled “Share” next to your league’s name. If you click on “Share”, a URL will be created that connects directly to the ID of your private league. Simply share this URL with your friends via e-mail, chat, or whatever method you desire! If you lose this URL you can retrieve it by returning to the Join/Create a League page and locating your league name. If it is a private league, you will need to type the league name into the search bar first to make the league visible.

11. Where can I learn more about the Boss Minion LoL Fantasy League and LoL Bracket Competition apps? Just ask! Check out the Boss Minion Forums, our Twitter page (@BossMinion), or our Facebook. We’re here to help, and if we don’t know the answer we will invent a lie so fantastic you won’t know the difference!

12. Is there an app available in the App Store or Google Play Store to manage my fantasy teams? Unfortunately we do not yet have a mobile app available. If you have experience in IOS or Android programming and are interested, drop us a line.

13. Can I get a refund for my premiere league subscription if I changed my mind? At this time we are not able to offer rebates for premiere league subscribers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

14. Are there age restrictions on joining the site and competing in the LoL Fantasy League or LoL Bracket Competition? Due to legal restrictions Boss Minion requires users to be 13+ (thirteen years or older). Everyone who is 13+ is able to join the site and participate in the public competitions for both the LoL Fantasy League app or Bracket Competition app. However, you must be 18+ (eighteen years or older) and a U.S. Citizen to participate in a premiere league and compete for prizes. Some states are not allowed. This is due to U.S. and international laws regarding prize winnings, and we hate it. If you happen to be a lawyer skilled in the intl. laws that govern giving away prizes in competitions, feel free to contact us. 15. You said something about prizes… Yes we did! Boss Minion is out to offer as much fun as possible to our users – and we know for a lot of people that means competing FOR something. In League of Legends you can get Elo. On bossminion.com, we offer RP prizes and other LoL-related schwag! Since all of this fun stuff costs money, we have created tiers in the Boss Minion premiere leagues. Now you can join a league that matches your interest level and still get cool rewards and more intense competition. For more information on the Silver, Gold, and Platinum leagues (and instructions on how to join) head over to the Premiere League page.

16. I have some ideas on how to make “xyz” better. Who should I contact? First of all, thanks for thinking of us! We’re always trying to improve our site and the apps that we offer League of Legends fans. You can submit your input on our Forums, send us a note from the Contact Us page, or hunt us down on Twitter and Facebook.

LoL Fantasy Competition FAQ:

1. How do I change my team lineup? Team lineups are all managed from the Lineup page. The drop down box near the upper middle of the screen will let you select which league’s lineup you are editing. Make sure you set your lineup for each individual league!

2. Why can’t I choose a roster full of all the best-rated players? To promote variety and encourage competition all rosters have a maximum of 100 gold to spend. This amount has to be split between the 5 roles.

3. What happens to my lineup when one of my players does really well and his/her Fantasy cost increases? If your team’s worth exceeds 100 gold, you will have to re-organize your roster. Teams that are over the 100 gold cap will earn zero points for that week’s games. Any team whose value changes to exceed 100 gold in a given week will be notified via e-mail that they need to make roster adjustments in order to avoid being penalized.

4. Can I get more information on players before I decide to add them to my team? Sure! While on your Lineup page, click on the role that you are interested in. Once the roster of available players populates, you can click on a player’s name to go to a player detail page. Here you can find predictions, past performance statistics, and lifetime averages.

5. Can I create a draft for my private league? Unfortunately we do not yet have a live draft feature. Stay tuned for more information, as this is a really fun aspect of the fantasy experience that we would love to implement in the future.

6. How are player ratings assigned, aka what is your fantasy formula? Our fantasy formula is based on the idea that League of Legends is dynamic game with different roles and functions. As a result, we do not treat all players and characters equally. The breakdown is too long to list here, so please check out our formula page.

LoL Bracket Competition FAQ:

1. How do I change my predictions? To change your tournament predictions, navigate to the Predictions page. Once you’ve looked over the matches, insert your score predictions in the text boxes available next to each game. Make sure you pay attention to the game type! For example, if a match is a best-of-three, the outcome will be either 1-2, 0-2, 2-1, or 2-0. If it is a best-of-five, it might be 3-1, 2-3, etc. etc. If you put in a prediction for the incorrect match type, you won’t get any points!

2. Who determines what tournaments are covered in the LoL Bracket Competition? Right now we are covering major (i.e. non-amateur) NA tournaments. However, we plan on expanding into European and Asian tournaments as soon as possible. Stay tuned!

3. I wasn’t paying attention and forgot to enter data on some of the games in my bracket. What can I do? If the games haven’t been played yet, go change your predictions! While you are free to enter all of your predictions at one time at the beginning of each particular tournament, the results will not be locked until just before each game begins. If the game has already been played, there isn’t much we can do for you

4. What is this Baron Nashor thing, and what does it do? Baron Nashor is your special ability, your game changing buff. When used, slaying Baron Nashor will double the points you receive for the selected match. To activate the Baron Buff, simply click on the icon next the match you want to double. Remember – while the Baron Buff is powerful, it can only be used once per tournament. Choose your moment wisely!

5. How do points work for the Bracket Competition? Points are tallied as follows:

Exact match result = 4 pts. (this is correctly predicting the overall match winner, as well as the correct winner of each round).
Match result = 3 pts. (this is correctly predicting the overall match winner)
Round result = 1 pts. (this is correctly predicting the results of one or more rounds, but not the overall match winner)
Remember that you Baron Nashor Buff will double the points you receive from any one match – if you guess incorrectly, your zero points will still be zero points.
