Blackburn have agreed a fee of £2.5m with Tromso for Norway winger Morten Gamst Pedersen. After discussions on Wednesday night, the two clubs agreed on a fee for the 22-year-old, some of which is dependent on appearances. Tromso's general manager Bjorn Tore Markussen told Norwegian newspaper Nordlys: "We are very happy to have come to this agreement. "Of course it is a shame to lose a player like Morten, but it is good that Morten can get such a strong wish granted." Markussen led the negotiations for Tromso along with Tore Rismo and board member Aage Fossum, with chief executive John Williams leading the talks for Blackburn. Gamst Pedersen will undertake a medical and finalise personal terms in England on Thursday, and the move is expected to go through later in the day. He said: "This is one of my childhood dreams coming true. "I was very relieved when I got the message. And I don't see anything that can ruin the deal now. "I hope to establish myself as a regular Premier League player within the next couple of months." Pedersen was today named in the Norwegian national squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Italy and Belarus on 4 and 8 September. |
