Since we're talking about food, let's talk about English food: I want to have Sunday roast, with gravy and Yorkshire puddings, I want to have real good quality fish and chips with a dash of vinegar!

There's a fish and chips shop somewhere in the Fifth, there's also an English restaurant (Bertie's, I think the name is) which I never tested, because it's pretty expensive, what I'm looking for at the moment is pub grub (steak and kidney/mushroom/Guinness pies and Sunday roast). I know where to have a lovely English brunch, with the delicious, artery-clogging pork sausages, but they switch to continental food for the other meals...

I know the Frog and Rosbif pubs do that... When I have more money, I'll just pop there and indulge myself on gravy-laced courses

Ha... That's not an easy thing to find (I mean the British idea of a "good Indian Meal", which is extremely spicy) but you can try the small restaurants in passage Brady, telling the waiter you're used to English style curry, and that should do the trick :)

I agree. It's "Piss off".

You guys make me doubt ... I need to check this ;)

But in my mind, every time I've seen that written it was "peace off" (in the meaning 'gimme peace' -fiche moi la paix-)
... maybe both are right, but different in meanings ("piss off" could be used instead of "fuck off" [:spamafote])

If anyone has more information about this ...

Mmmh, that's true.
Let's speak about the reasons why French people suck so much in English (and foreign languages in general)
I can't help noticing that in the countries where people speak English correctly, the TV series, and even the kid's programs  are not dubbed, but subtitled. Do you think that promoting the "VOST" on TV in France would improve the French's level in English?

I'd say Yes,

I have improved my english talk by watching Friends in the original way, so i guess that's it can be helpful, maybe mandatory.
