Comment faire poru activer le mode anamorphique ?
Est ce que le mode haut-qualité est bcp plus lent ?
Au moment de prévisualiser la video, j'ai un écran vert à la place de la preview ???? un bug ?

pour mon pb de lecture sur pda ça n'est pas un pb de multiple de 32; j'ai le son mais pas d'image (ecran noir puis une image figée), et après plantage de MVP (le lecteur divx pour ppc)
Est ce qu'il y en a qui encode avec Fair use pour leur PDA ?
Ce serait sympa qu'il poste TOUS leurs paramètres svp

J ai un PIV 2.4Ghz HT overclocké à 3.0 GHz.

mmmm... j'ai rajouté du code SSE2 dans le décodage vidéo, mais comme j'ai un Athlon XP je n'ai pas pu le tester... Je t'envoie une mise à jour demain.

Salut à tous, ayant eu quelques remarques concernant la "qualité très moyenne" des encodages produits par FU, je m'y suis collé. La prochaine version de FU aura donc deux modes concernant le redimensionnement :

Bilinear resize de meilleure qualité que l'ancien (pour les backups 1 CD)
Lanczos resize (à réserver aux backups sur 2 CD à mon humble avis)

J'ai fait un test pour voir (si j'ose dire)
A prendre avec un peu de recul quand même, car j'ai testé sur le menu d'un anime. Faudrait refaire la même chose sur un film.

1. Mon image de référence (resizer Lanczos, pas d'autre traitement avant encodage) :

Mes premières impressions :

1 est magnifique ! Par contre la compressibilité en prend un coup...

2 est moins lumineux sur un écran de PC, mais c'est normal. Je n'ai pas encore essayé sur la TV.

3 fait très peu de différence avec 1, les dégradés sont peut-être un peu plus "doux". Par contre on perd quelques détails par-çi par-là.

4 est beaucoup moins nette que 1, moins lumineuse, et les couleurs sont moins profondes. Mais c'est pas grave car 4 ne fera pas partie de la prochaine release de FU.

J'aimerais bcp avoir vos avis

je vois pas trop de diff entre la 1 et la 2 mais c'est clair que sur une image d'anime et statique la diff se voit entre la 1 et la 4 !!!

mais histoire de t'embette je me souviens de t'avoir demander de faire des profils differents suivant la qualite qu'on veut car certains veulent du 1 cd et d'autre veulent mettre ca sur des dvd donc la place est certe tjrs importante mais moins primordiale.

je trouve donc ton initiative tres bonne.

puisque tu veut avoir une qualite meilleure pourquoi ne pas garder ce systeme de profil qui a l'avantage de garder la simpliciter tout en proposant a ce qu'il le desire plus d'option, dans cette optique pourquoi ne pas faire un ou des profil "hautes qualite" ou dans ce cas tu pourrait mettre en oeuvre avisynth (avec des scripts predefinis)ou d'autre methodes.

ton prog resterai tjrs aussi simple et transparent tout en proposant pour ce qui veulent une qualite terrible.
De plus se serait une vrai revolution car je m'y suis interresser et c'est pas facile tout ces progs a utiliser a enchainer et surtout a configurer et je parle pas des scripts !!! (avisynth), bref ton prog sera le premier a faire tout ca tres simplement ce qui est dans la philo du debut. (car je sais que c'est important pour toi!!! cette simplicite !!!).

La différence entre 1 et 2 se voit surtout sur les lettres très blanches à gauche. Le blanc de 2 est "moins blanc" que sur 1 quand on le regarde sur un moniteur, mais sur une TV c'est 2 qui a le meilleur rendu de couleurs (normal, c'est fait pour coller au standard de couleurs des TV).

L'architecture interne de FU n'est pas adaptée à l'utilisation de AviSynth. Les autres softs utilisent DVDDecrypter->DVD2AVI->AviSynth->VirtualDubMod mais FU fait tout le traitement en interne, donc pas possible à priori d'utiliser des scripts AviSynth.
Du coup, j'ai intégré directement le code source de certains filtres AviSynth dans FU, et j'ai rajouté une case "haute qualité" qui déclenche l'utilisation du filtre Lanczos.

Pour les amateurs de AviSynth, les filtres utilisés sont :
Limiter (si mode TV)->Undot->Bob (si smart deinterlace activé)->Resizer (bilinear/soft bicubic/Lanczos selon les cas).

Le soft reste donc simple et transparent tout en ayant (et pour cause) la qualité des filtres AviSynth.

pour tes images c'est clair j'avais pas vu par contre sur ma tele je vois pas les diff de couleurs, tu dit que c'est mieux moi je vois rien par contre la nettete de la 1 sur le blanc est flagrante meme sur la tele.

l'image 1 sera bien egale au profil "haute qualite" ?
depuis quand avisynth est integrer a fu ? (version)

Quand je parlais de comparaison des couleurs sur la TV je parlais de la vidéo, je n'ai pas essayé avec les screenshots. Quand on regarde la vidéo sur la TV, la version 2 a un meilleur rendu que la version 1. J'ai fait quelques tests avec un clip de 20 secondes (celui des captures çi-dessus).

Les encodages sont en XviD, quant=2, résolution 640x464. Les tailles sont exprimées en octets.

D'abord on joue sur le resizer :

Lanczos 9 426 944
Sharp bicubic 9 228 288
Neutral bicubic 8 892 416
Ancien bilinear 8 077 312
Soft bicubic 8 054 784
Bilinear 7 882 752

Là y'a pas photo, je pense que le meilleur choix pour 1 CD est le soft bicubic car il donne une meilleure qualité visuelle que les bilinear tout en conservant une compressibilité correcte.

Je suis ensuite parti sur une seconde série de tests, car je voulais connaitre l'impact des filtres intégrés : Limiter, Undot. Pendant que j'y étais, puisque j'avais un anime sous la main j'ai testé l'option "Cartoon mode" du codec XviD.

Soft bicubic 8 054 784
SB+Undot 7 925 760
SB+Limiter 7 778 304
SB+Cartoon mode 7 636 992

Et enfin :

SB+Undot+Limiter 7 661 568 octets

j'encode un bonus d'un film
il y a un titre qui dure 2 minutes et ou il y a 4 spots TV de 30 secondes le tout chapitré
je choisi 20 Mo en taille et a la fin j'ai un fichier d'environ 20 Mo

mais si je fais la même chose en cochant "crée un fichier par chapitre" j'obtient 4 fichiers de 20 Mo
je pensais qu'en cochant cette case j'obtiendrais 4 fichiers qui en tout font 20 Mo

donc est-ce un bug ou est-ce que j'ai mal compris l'utilité de la case crée un fichier par chapitre

C'est un bug... de XviD.

Apparemment XviD a beaucoup de mal avec les fichiers de petite taille, et il dérape complètement sur la taille. Je suis en train de faire le test, et il semble qu'en mettant les "min quant" à 2 au lieu de 1 ca corrige le problème.

EDIT : le "min quant=2" ne suffit pas à résoudre ce pb avec XviD. DivX par contre s'en sort très bien et semble donner des tailles cohérentes (je n'ai testé que sur quelques chapitres, mais avec XviD chaque chapitre est trop gros, en DivX ils ont une taille raisonnable, qui devrait faire tomber le total vers 700 Mo.

@lourus: J'avais tenté de rajouter une optimisation SSE2, mais je n'avais pas pu la teser car j'ai un Athlon. Je l'ai retirée dans la version finale.

EDIT: bon ben ca n'a pas suffit. Je continue à chercher pourquoi XviD a autant de mal avec les fichiers de petite taille.

Désolé de ne pas avoir répondu plus tôt. J'ai terminé mon test, et 697 Mo au final pour 700 demandés, avec 32 chapitres, en XviD. Ca me semble très correct.

Tu devrais avoir l'occasion de tester très bientôt, j'ai pratiquement terminé la version finale.
