Firstly, you have to set the video output resolution to 1080p 50Hz or 1080p 60Hz and 1080p24 to ON.
 
OK, now, if you play a 1080p24 movie, the Xtreamer automatically changes the video output resolution to 1080p 24Hz
AND automatically changes it back to 1080p 50/60Hz when the movie ends or when you go back to the menu!

1. Download the file
2. Save the file on your computer (any directory).
3. Copy your file to a USB memory stick and use the USB host port on your Xtreamer.
4. Turn on your Xtreamer and navigate to the MISC option in the SETTINGS menu of your Xtreamer.
5. Select the Firmware Upgrade option
6. Navigate to the USB memory attached to your Xtreamer containing the firmware update file Xtreamer_ver101.xtr .
 
PLEASE NOTE: We do not recommend to upgrade the firmware via your network shared folders, as a loss in connection to the network could cause a break in the firmware upgrade process.
 
7. Once you have located the file Xtreamer_ver101.xtr, highlight the file and press ENTER on your remote to begin the upgrade process.
8. The Xtreamer will reboot and the process will be done in matter of few minutes. Once done the Xtreamer will reboot itself.

Debricking
 
Before starting the procedure of emergency recovery - Please make sure you are using the AV RCA cables and not HDMI. Some TV HDCP protocols may cause problem to show the procedure on TV.
 
(1) Download the file Xtreamer Emergency
(2) Extract the file install.img (120 mb)
(3) Copy the “install.img” file to the root of the USB flash memory or HDD inside Xtreamer.
(4) Take out the unit out of the electricty power on the wall. wait 10 sec. Bring it back to the power
(5) In Remote control, press “Home” -> “3” -> “Power”. not any other sequence. HOME first 3 + POWER. no need to use power first. any other sequence will fail and nothing will happen as the call for this procedure is initiated by HOME button pressed first...keep it pressed + press 3 + press power until you see the process starts.
 
If the firmware is not in the root of the USB the process will fail as the process seek the .img in the USB root.
 
Process Emergency upgrade should be visible on the screen if done correct.
 
Please note : After “intro” screen, if system boots without further update procedure, re-try emergency firmware update while powering-off the unit. It means you did not do it in the correct way. PRESS the HOME first and after 3 and after POWER while the unit is OFF.

(A) You should install it on your pc (XP or Vista) .
(B) Goto the settings of the XMJ and choose your desired languge and source of internet data (IMDB, SRATIM Etc)
(C)Go to the ADD - and add any folder you want the XMJ to scan (shared folder, local folder, or inside the unit HDD) and click submit. The software will scan your folders and will generate for you several things :
 
(1) in your device you will be able to find in each movie folder (you previously added to the XMJ) 2 new files - moviefilename.PNG is the full file info with cover art + moviefilename[INFO].png - text description of the movie. If you will turn the Preview ON in the device you will be able to see the full info about the device in the preview screen or even display it in full screen . The information will be based on the selected source you chose in the XMJ settings (if you choose Plug-in Sratim - you will see it in hebrew)
 
The XMJ was developed in order to allow users with very big collection of movies to know what is each movie is about - automatically. Once the XMJ will finish its operation you will be able to see all the new generated info as per movie on the TV - navigating your library or network with the remote control . Further info as per each movie and search will be done via the PC. You dont need the PC turned on all time. You will be able to perform this task every time you are adding new movies to your collection as the XMJ can generate the info only for new files without going through your entire folders from scratch.
 
(2) The XMJ will generate a 3d wall of all yours movie collection - you will be able to see this wall on the PC only.
 
(3) The XMJ will generate you a serachable index - click search on XMJ - you will be able to see this nice feature on the PC only.

Conclusion
The Xtreamer does not disappoint. This compact device offers for a relatively low price an interface that works comfortably. Also is it able, thanks to the powerful Realtek-chipset, to handle a big variety of HD-formats that are reproduced fluently with good quality. The downmixing of surround-formats is also a pro.
 
Furthermore the Xtreamer offers the possibility to place a 2,5" harddisk, while its direct competitors in this pricerange, like Asus' O!Play and WD TV don't. Apart from that there are, be it limited, possibilities to play internet-content.
 
Of course the Xtreamer has also some weak points. The fan makes more noise than necessary and the player does not have component-out, neither an esata connection. The lack of wifi can be solved, although at a price.
 
To draw a conclusion, the Xtreamer is a very welcome newcomer to the mediaplayer scenery and definitely a great choice for those who don't need terabytes of local storage. The brand new Realtek-chipset shows that developments in the area of mediaplayers are ongoing and that necessary hardware may be produced at a reasonable price.
