I probably overlook some additional comments like the fan noise and other stuff I could come up with as a conclusion, fact is, for €99 this is a superb value and the firmware at this level in many ways is more mature than most players released before. Xtreamer obviously made a decent attempt at tuning the interface to an easy and appealing one, even though it overloaded it with its own logos on every page, too much for me. Other than the copy section, the interface was convenient and fine. I would like to see the file manager be enhanced to have more files listed.
 
Certainly to an extend we agree this product is more than just a WDTV competitor… It competes with much more than that and has plenty of potential yet unused to grow further. Let’s concentrate on that part… Simply amazing, yet needs additional work. Kudos to Xtreamer as I never felt I was handling an "only €99" player. It’s actually worth more but just so you know, me saying so is no reason to raise the price, ok? :-)

It's being handled now. All the necessary payments have been authorized and the only thing that could stand between you and your players is the traditional for public services lack of effectiveness .

I just came of the phone, talking to customs.
The more than 400 players for the EU are all blocked in Liege (Begium).
Until Xtreamer pays over 30.000 Euro's in fees cause they have undervalued the Xtreamer to 20 Euro's.
Not smart cause they found out..
Now, all the players are stuck in Liege waiting for the payment of Xtreamer...

But they responsible of the customs department ensured me that once it is paid, we will get the Xtreamers.

First Year Warranty
 
(1) in case your device is faulty or defected we will require you to contact us within your order account with RMA request.
(2) please send us by mail clear pictures of the defected unit and its #serial in order to be eligible for RMA number from us as a detailed explanation
of what is wrong.
(3) The RMA officer will review your request within 10 working days.
(4) Once we will authorise your RMA we will send you a new delivery with new #tracking and a unit.
The same delivery guy will pick your old unit from you and return to us.
 
The expected Turn-over Cycle of the process should not exceed 15 working days.
 
2nd Year Warranty
 
(1) in case your device is faulty or defected on the 2nd year we will require you to contact us within your order account with RMA request.
(2) please send us by mail clear pictures of the defected unit and its #serial as well as detailed full explnation of what is wrong with your device - in order to be eligible for RMA number from us

(4) Once we will authorise your RMA we will require you to send the unit via our delivery company to us and once we will get the defected device back we will exchange it for you by sending a new one in return. Here's how to get a telnet prompt:
 
1) Copy busybox (http://www.sendspace.com/file/uzs7cb) file to your USB stick.
2) Put USB stick in your xtreamer
3) Use xtreamer menus to navigate to the USB stick to make sure it is mounted.
4) Using the steps posted by original poster, type this into the command box of your PC browser:
 
#/tmp/usbmounts/sda1/busybox telnetd -l /bin/sh &
 
Telnet will now be available on the ip address of your xtreamer.

The Xtreamer is the media player I've been waiting for. For a low price of €99 you get a very valuable toy to play with. Valuable not only in terms of feature richness but also in used materials to produce it. It feels not like a cheap plastic box but the look and feel really gives you the feeling that you didn't pour your money down the drain.

Despite some minor issues which can be fixed by software in the near future you can't do anything wrong by investing €99 in this little media player, which also is a streamer by the way. I am more than satisfied with my Xtreamer and I am sure, Xtreamer.net will reveal some more nice secrets to us soon. Just think about the Movie Jukebox or better FLV support, new themes, better photo/music handling, new video codec support etc... what are you waiting for :-)

NFS (UDP):
Popcorn A-100: 89.5 Mbps (23% CPU)
Xtreamer: 94.6 Mbps (80% CPU)
 
I guess I see why they didn't enable NFS on the initial firmware - awesome speed but it kills the CPU. Once optimized, nfs will probably be the best choice like on all the other players on the market.

In our continuing effort to make the xtreamer easier to use we developed another small PC utility that once installed and appear in your desktop it will allow you to have an easier access to the UPnP Server and its full power.
 
THe device should be turned ON and the UPnP option should be set to ON on the settings menu of the device for the utility to be able to identify the Xtreamer in your local network .
 
It will save you the hastle of checking the IP address of the device from your router manually.
 
Simply click on the icon on your desktop and the browser will be opened with the UPnP Server login page .

Firstly, you have to set the video output resolution to 1080p 50Hz or 1080p 60Hz and 1080p24 to ON.
 
OK, now, if you play a 1080p24 movie, the Xtreamer automatically changes the video output resolution to 1080p 24Hz
AND automatically changes it back to 1080p 50/60Hz when the movie ends or when you go back to the menu!
