Probleme bizarre

Je ne comprend pas lorsque je passe en root je n'ai plus acces à certains logiciel comme Kate ou kwrite (editeur) alors que j'y ai acces en tant que user.
 
Le probleme est apparu aujourd'hui.
 
Comment corriger le probleme.

Et si tu tapes /usr/bin/kate ? Probleme dans ton $PATH ?

en fait kate est dans /usr/kde/3/bin/
 
et cela donne
 
root@xxxx toto # /usr/kde/3/bin/kate
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
 
kate: cannot connect to X server :0.0
 
 
Rappel : cela marche imppecable en user
Je suis sous gentoo

ça c'est normal, c'est ton user le propriétaire de ta session X, pas le root, donc il faut que tu laisses le root accéder à la session X de ton user
je sais plus exactement comment on fait
regarde le man de X ou des trucs comme ça

Mais pourquoi cela marchait depuis 3 mois et plus maintenant ?
 
En fait je ne peux lancer aucun logiciel en mode console pres une commane su

La seul que j'ai changé c'est mon ecran pour lequel j'ai fait des modif de résolution (et rien d'autre) dans le XFconfig

en logon user, ton X appartiendra à ton user et les appli que tu lanceras sous root via su essayeront de se fixer sur le X de ton user sans en avoir le droit
en logon root, le X appartient à ton root

J'ai un deuxieme poste avec une mandrake et je peux lancer les prog en user su root.
 
 
Personne pour m'aider a resoudre le probleme.

et lance une appli

Je souhaiterais savoir comment rétablir la situation pour que cela fonctionne.
 
en fait linux n'est pas si different de windows, il y a aussi des bug bizarres et sans solution - je me sens presque rassuré  :sol:  
 
J'ai pas envie de réinstaller ma gentoo  :pfff:
