Petite question aux slackeux .

J'aimerai faire un essai slackware sur le netbook. J'aimerai savoir si il existe des paquets récents (kde 4.6, noyau récent pour support du BTRFS par exemple), en gros, si il est possible "d'archiser" la slack, dans le sens de passer sur des dépots plus bleeding-edge.

Je sais que Slack ne se précipite pas sur les derniers bugs , mais certaines choses me sont capitales (kernel car /home en BTRFS et KDE 4.6), le reste peut être moins récent, ca ne me pose pas de problème.

Déjà, si tu veux du bleeding-edge, il vaut mieux partir sur une -current, évidemment. On trouve des ISO de la -current en quelques secondes de Google, donc je pense qu'il y a aussi moyen de trouver la même chose pour le boot PXE/USB du netbook.

Pour KDE 4.6, si Pat ne le met pas à jour de dernière minute pour la sortie de la 13.2 (il aime bien KDE donc il fait le coup assez souvent), tu trouveras toujours des paquets tiers (il n'y a pas vraiment de dépôts sur la Slack) :

Quant à brtfs... Eh bien, comme tu as pu le voir juste au-dessus, brtfs-progs a été ajouté dans la branche principale, mais je ne sais pas si le support de brtfs en lui-même est activé dans le noyau. Ça m'étonnerait aussi que l'installateur ait ce qu'il faut pour ça, mais je pourrais me tromper.

Le plus simple serait de tester.

Sinon, à part en bidouillant honteusement l'installateur pour y ajouter le support de brtfs et y mettre un autre noyau... je ne vois pas tellement d'autres possibilités.
Ou alors, à partir de Arch, tu crées une partition brtfs, tu y décompresses un système de base Slackware et tu y greffes le noyau d'Arch en espérant que ça marche [:poutrella] (très peu probable si Arch utilise le tout dernier dernier GCC et la toute dernière libc)

EDIT : Hm je vois qu'il existerait brtfs-convert pour passer de l'ext3/ext4 à brtfs. Si ce truc marche vraiment, alors une solution un peu moins gruik serait d'installer d'abord en ext3/ext4, puis d'ajouter le support de brtfs dans le noyau, et enfin de convertir ta partition en brtfs [:kukron]

Paye tes envies de bleeding-edge, quand même

oué mais là à me geler dans les pâtes après une quasi-journée de compilation on frisait l'indécence, alors à tant faire que autant y aller franchement et entamer les préliminaires [:darkstyle_69]
Entretemps tiga avait fini son install d'osX fantômatique donc il a contribué de ses petits bits travailleurs pour concocter un mozilla-firefox-4.0rc1-x86_64-1cyco.txz qu'auras vécu moins de temps qu'il en a fallu pour l'enfanter [:babaji]
