Fulham face transfer ban

Fulham face being banned for the second time this year from making any international transfers. An outstanding £3.2m debt to Lyon from the £11.5m transfer of French international Steve Marlet back in July 2001 saw football's governing body Fifa implement a temporary ban on the club buying any foreign players back in January.
However, faced with the ban, Fulham quickly made a payment to the French champions, but with Fifa monitoring this latest row very closely, Mohamed Al-Fayed's club face being handed a second ban over allegations they failed to pay Metz £1.3m in commission over the sale of striker Louis Saha back at the start of the year. |
