Une fois j'ai galeré comme toi et avec le mixeur que j'utilisais (alsamix je crois) j'avais tout mis au max et pas de son ...
Me demande pas pourquoi mais j'ai installé aumix, lui voyait tout mute j'ai monté le son et l'affaire était reglée ..
 
Essaye aumix donc ..

GTT, l'important, c'est la version d'Alsa-driver, pas celle du noyau ;).

Tu as compilé un noyau à la main ou pris un déjà précompilé (via ton gestionnaire) ?
La seconde option est préférable car chaque distribution inclut des patchs et aussi, une méthode de boot. Mais, bon, c'est faisable de mettre un noyau vanilla (de kernel.org), avec un peu de méthode et de connaissance de sa distribution.

j'ai pris la version deja precompilée du gestionnaire ( en fait j ai rajouté les depots de la version feisty d ubuntu qui sortira le mois prochain normalement ), et j'en ai profité pour lui piquer également ses paquets pour alsa ... du coup je suis "plus a jour" que la version actuelle a jour, tant pour le noyau que pour alsa ...
mais bon j ai réessayé de shooter alsa puis de reinstaller la 1.0.14rc3 comme indiqué plus haut mais le gestionnaire de paquet veut absolument me virer la moitié de la distrib si je desinstalle alsa, comme il m a fait hier  :sweat:  
 
des que je rentre la je regarde la version d alsa que j ai exactement ...

Ok, a priori, tu dois être au moins en 1.0.14rc2, car cette version est nécessaire pour compiler sur un 2.6.20.

Une solution serait de prendre la version de dév d'Alsa et de la plaquer sur ta distrib, ce n'est pas difficile à faire, mais ça peut marcher (c'est ce qui est le plus à jour de toute façon).

bon je viens de voir sur les forums internationaux d ubuntu que c est a la fois le noyau qui foire et alsa ...
 
cependant le noyau 2.6.20 corrige le probleme d acpi qui causait le ' pas de son ' avec l ich7 family, mais par contre faut attendre la alsa 1.0.14 définitive pour regler le tout pour ceux qui rencontraient encore des bugs ...

Comme plus à jour que la 1.0.14-rc3, il y a la version de dév, je te disais plus haut, cad que quand tu la compiles, tu as la version du jour :p (remarque, j'ai commencé comme cela avec ma carte audio).
 
Exact pour ta dernière remarque, car en packagé de chez Alsa, il n'y a rien de mieux que cette version rc3 http://www.alsa-project.org/ .

Alors on parle pas exactement du même modèle de Toshiba que le tien, mais à tout hasard (c'est pour ça que je te demandais si tu connaissais exactement ton "chipset son" ), regardes ici (C'est chez ubuntu).

 

Par contre, la partie ACPI ou autre ne te concerne pas, et ça (je parle du chapitre conssacré à l'ACPI, sur cette page) peut être risqué de jouer avec l'ACPI en suivant les instructions décrites sur cette page.

 

Donc on ne lit et utilise QUE le chapitre sur le son, OK ?

j ai suivi le tuto a la lettre excepté pour la version d alsa ou j ai bien pris la 14rc3 ...
 
cela dit maintenant j ai un symbole rouge sur l icone de son dans la barre des taches et plus de son ...
 
quand j essaye d activer le mixer, j ai e message d erreur suivant:
"Le contrôleur de volume ne trouve aucun éléments et/ou périphériques à contrôler. Cela signifie que soit vous n'avez pas les bons greffons GStreamer installés, soit vous n'avez pas de carte son configurée.
"

et voila j ai refait la manip et la la carte son est meme plus vue ... j ai tenté de reinstaller/mettre a jour alsa via le gestionnaire de paquet mais ca change rien, la carte n est plus reconnue du tout ...
 
la je commence a perdre espoir et patience ...

On rerécapitule :
 
1/ quel tuto ?
 
2/ si tu compiles la version Alsa prise sur le site d'Alsa (cf un de mes derniers messages), tu dois aussi avoir les sources de ton noyau installées (/usr/src/...)
 
3/ si tu prends du précompilé, ce n'est pas la peine d'avoir ces sources, mais dans ce cas, il doit falloir passer une instruction à ton gestionnaire pour qu'il identifie ta carte son (exemple, sous Gentoo, c'est dans /etc/make.conf).

bah la de toutes facons le plus simple vu le bordel que j avais deja fait c est que j ai tout viré puis tout reinstallé ( j entends par la un bon vieux format a l ancienne avec reinstall de ubuntu complet ) ...
 
bref ... on recommence depuis le début, avec tout ce qu on sait qui ne fait rien, mais qui peut quand meme servir en guise de mise a jour ...
 
Sinon je parlais du tuto de zozzo dans son dernier post ...

Avant de faire quoi que ce soit, peux tu copier/coller le résultat de la commande sudo modprobe -l -a *snd* ici stp ?]
 
Par contre, j'aimerai bien pouvoir jeter un coup d'oeil sur ce qu'affiche un sudo lspci -v , c'est possible ?

Et quelle carte, il a vue ?
 
Juste après avoir fait le sudo alsaconf, c'est possible d'avoir le résultat d'un dmesg | tail -n 20 ?

la le wep c est uen config en vitesse pour me remettre sur les rails et mettre les copié collé apres le format :D
 
la il est en train d installer les mises a jour via le gestionnaire de paquet puis dans 5 minutes je mets les resultats des commandes :D

tiens c est bourré de ' cannot allocate ' ou 'cannot do ... ' a coté des hda intel :'(
 
je suppose que ca a un rapport avec le mutisme du pc ...

Si tu lances alsa, après avoir fait le modprobe que je t'ai indiqué, tu n'as toujours pas de son j'imagine ?
 
Les drivers là, ce sont ceux d'une install standard "Ubuntu" (quelle version ?) ? Tu n'as pas encore modifié les drivers alsa ?
