Dear HP Customer,
Thank you for contacting HP eServices.
This is in response to your e-mail regarding the Evo N1005v notebook.
Please accept my apologies for the incomplete information provided in my previous response.
I would like to inform you that it will not harm the battery or the notebook even if you drain the battery completely to 0%.
Please power on the notebook without using the AC power adapter (only with the Battery) and wait till completely drains/power off, then connect the AC power adapter and the charge the Battery fully.
This will now calibrate the Battery.
To ensure good battery life. It is recommended that the battery never be removed from the notebook during the notebook usage. A few easy steps will ensure that the batteries serve their full life span and you can wring the last drop of charge from them. 1. Charge and recharge the battery few times, so that they can get fully charged. 2. Fully drain the battery charge and recharge them periodically, or at least once a week. 3. Occasionally clean the battery contacts of the charger and the devices with which you usually use the batteries with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol. This will remove almost all problems associated with charging and use. 4. The battery life is reduced if the notebook uses any intensive graphics applications like games or watching any DVD movies. Please ensure that these types of application are run only with AC power.
Please e-mail us in case of any further questions and we will be glad to help. Thank you,
