The name of the file is logo.sys and it is located in the C:\ root directory. When found rename to oldlogo.sys and save. Create a new bmp file of the size 320x400x256colors which will be 127kb in size. "Save as" this file and identify as logo.sys and place in the C:\ root directory.
In some cases a logo.sys file does not exist and the boot image is contained within a .sys file. By creating the new logo.sys file it will over ride the original boot image. To reinstate the orginal image just remove the new logo.sys file and rename the oldlogo.sys file to logo.sys.

also try
start run
type in msconfig
remove everything but explorer from start up
reboot.
If is does not happen, it is in a startup program. Start rechecking until you find the culprit.
