the IC7 does NOT "hold" the reset switch. When you press it it will reset but immediately power up again wether you hold the switch down or not. This is rather unpractical with a Prometeia, but it appears to be the way the boards made, and no way around it
I cant say I have any problems my friend... my P4C and IC7 work great at very low temps... I've seen several IC7 + 3.0/800s now with proms and they seem to run fine...
une autre personne :
I have had the same problem with the IC7 not holding reset, I find the solution for now is:
is to underclock the system when shutting down (for longer than a few minutes) and reduce the Vcore to minimum. When rebooting I insert a boot floppy and wait there until the temperature has dropped to -35c, then remove the floppy and restart as normal after resetting in the bios to normal overclock settings. It's clumsy but it works!
However there is a more serious problem with the 800fsb processors not starting into Windows:
I have been experiencing this problem for 2 weeks now.
The system will start (underclocked) into windows (as the reset won't hold) and work normally until the temp drops to about 0c. Then the system will reset itself continually.
It won't even boot into windows from CD.
The same occurs with both 3.0c (800) cpus I have here.
Air cooling solves the problem, but obviously this is of no help in using the Prometeia
APPAREMMENT C LE POWER CONDITIONER QUI PROVOQUE LE PROBLEME
