[XFree 4.3.0] Probleme d affichage au demarrage de X.

Salut,
 
 
J'ai sur une machine une debian woody installé (noyau 2.2.20) avec un serveur XFree 4.3.0 . Je demarre XFree a l aide de la commande X, en mettant un fichier /etc/rc2.d/S99X. Je demarre egalement un programme graphique (ex : une image quelconque en plein ecran) toujours dans le script S99X.
 
Le probleme c est que quand on demarre X (meme si l ordinateur a été  hors tension) , a l'initialisation de celui-ci, une image brouillée  de ce qui avait eu precedemment (lors du precedent arret, soit mon image en plein ecran)...et ceci n est pas tres esthetique (c est pour un client final).
 
Je pense qu il s agit d'un cache de XFree non vidé mais je ne sais comment faire pour remedier a ca ?
 
 
Quelqu un a t il une idee ?

 :heink: N'est-ce pas plutôt un 2.4.20 ? Si ce n'est pas la cas, je te conseille fortement de passer à un 2.4.22, sauf si une stabilité ABSOLUE est un critère de vente.

non c est bien un 2.2 (20 je me suis ptet gouré,  c est le noyau fourni en standard avec la woody ).
 
 
J ai essayé de mettre un noyau 2.4 mais je n y suis pas bien arrivé (pb de detection carte reseau etc ...).
 
 
Par contre, ca ne resoud pas mon probleme de demarrage de X :(

Ben à mon avis, tu devrais commencer par installer un 2.4.22 (si tu ne sais pas comment faire, demande, on est là pour t'aider ;)), nous donner ta config exacte (tu n'as pas mentionné la carte graphique) ainsi que le contenu de ton fichier /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 et celui de ton fichier /var/log/XFree86.0.log afin qu'on puisse les étudier un peu ...

Il s'agit d'une carte graphique intégrée (sur carte PC104) de marque Cyrix Media GX. Le driver n'existant pas sous linux (merci les constructeurs), je passe par le driver vesa standard.
 
J'amenerai le contenu des 2 fichiers ulterieurement, m'enfin c gros hein ;-)
 
 
Passer au noyau 2.4.22 ,j'ai essayé (avec l'aide de HFR voir post anterieur) , ca "marchotait" c'est a dire que j'arrivais a booter avec (c est la compilation la plus complexe car compiler sur une Compact Flash de 512MO avec un systeme qui en fait 250 et un source de 150 MO , bah y reste plus grand chose), mais certains drivers n'etaient plus detectés .Notamment la carte reseau (rtl8139) qui etait bien specifiée dans les options de compilation du noyau, mais qui ne voulait pas se charger au final.

c'est koi ta carte graphique ?
tu utilises un pilote générique VESA, donc pas vraiment optimisé et qui peut expliqué les pbs d'affichage que tu as. Utilise les pilotes de ta carte graphique

bah le probleme c'est que sous linux , les drivers ca se trouve pas a tous les coins de rue comme sous windows (merci les constructeurs).  
 
Pour ma puce graphique, le constructeur ne propose pas de driver.

c est une carte PC104 axiomtek (www.Axiomtek.com.tw) modele SBC84500VEA-300 avec une puce cyrix geode MX. C est pour un embedded PC. Je n ai pas le choix , y a que ca qui existe dans le monde (a part le nouveau modele mais 2X plus cher). Voila.

trop fort ... j utilisais jusque la une ancienne version de XFree ( > 4.3.0 ) et j avais donc testé avec le driver mediaGX fourni avec... il s'est avéré que ca ne fonctionnait pas. Je suis passé recemment en 4.3.0 mais je n ai pas retesté ce driver (j'avais aucune raison de le faire puisque je ne savais pas que c etait a nouveau supporté et de plus ca marchait "bien" avec le driver vesa)
 
 
je m empresse donc d essayer et on verra ce que ca donne.

bon j'ai essayé de mettre le nouveau driver, apparemment ca fonctionne mais j'ai toujours le probleme d'affichage au demarrage de X et quand on switche du mode texte au mode graphique.
 
Et apparemment ce driver ne fonctionne toujours qu en 16 bits et pas en 24 (pas grave ca par contre :) ce sont des images statiques en 800x600 j ai donc aucune perte de couleur)
 
 
 
Bizarre... en tout cas merci de ton aide :)

j'aimerai bien faire une capture d'écran pour montrer mais ca n est pas possible car c est au lancement du programme. (une photo a la rigueur)
