ok today myself and fellow member honeyman went to the loke test...
 
i took around 7 pages of notes and planned to put them all up but i am not really sure i can be bothered at this point..
 
my first impression upon seeing the game was:
 
"this is kof 1 on 1 with slightly better graphics"
 
remember that is my intial impression the second i saw the game, not having actually played it.
 
the backgrounds of which there are eight (possibly the final number + any secret stages becoz i mananged to peak of the shoulder of one of the girls timing the matches (vs matches) and she had a little sheet with drawn mock-ups of each stage, only eight were listed) are very sparse and sorta have a sweeping epic kof 2000 bladerunner or star wars influence to them.
 
they are:
 
1.
final (tenative final) boss stage in front of an ancient japanese temple where the two characters have a glowing outline to represent standing on the closer side of firelight, looks very cool.
 
2.
a train yard or something akin to the train yard in 98, looks like it is abandoned though.
 
3.
the inside a castle or cathedral stage shown in the e3 vid
 
4.
in a dark looking forest fighting in the water, looks great but again devoid of life... NOTE most of the stages are quite well animated though making them seem more part of the scene than a backdrop.
 
5.  
a stage that reminds me of goenitzs which looks like its in the parthenon or seomthing. again very epic feel with great music and a spinning power crystal in the background and what seems to be jesus with his back to the players.
 
6.
a star wars type background with some giant machine turning in the background and giant columns that look like part of a giant computer in the foreground...
 
7. + 8.
cant remember the other two at the moment more as i remember it..

the sprites are it seems as follows...
 
for kof chars = reused with new animations for some moves and some specials/supers, becoz the frame rate seems higher they all seem slightly more fluid.. i could be wrong on that though seeing as i couldnt really tell even with kof 02 right next to the test machines.
 
all non snk and new chars are new sprites or totally redrawn.
 
earthquake, shiki, kasumi, genjuro, are redrawn
 
all cap characters are new sprites.
 
so recycles are goenitz (possibly cant tell myself but he has toned down/new moves), terry, iori, kim, choi, ryo, takuma/mrkarate, mai and kyo.
 
they all have new moves though (whether they be normals, supers or specials).

new moves and moves included.
 
kyo.. has 3 supers his many punch to dp from 98, his standard charge and big flame and his 01?? big one hit punch super (redrawn)
 
mr karate is basically 98 takuma with get this A FUCKING DRAGON PUNCH COOL!! and a three fireball super!!!
 
chunli has her flip type kick that goes high from alpha, a bend over fireball like 3rd strike, spinning bird kick, a what appears ot be a new move which is like an energy spike from her palm (as well as her fireball) also has her spinning kick up into the air.
 
ryus level 3 super seems to be his dp super from 3rd strike.
 
choi has 3 supers his standard 2 plus the hidden one from kofo2
 
ryo has his fireball, dp, dp with kick, the step back and then 2 hit punch from kof 01??
 
dhalsim seems to have his super from sfex in the air with all the hits very coool!!!!
 
mbison (boxer) seems as alpha 3 with the d to u dp style move and a new move which seems like a sidestep to big uppercut or something...
 
shiki is very cool with lots of moves like a teleport (which is when she goes transparent) and a dp but i dont know too much about sam sho 64 2 so maybe she had all these moves b4
 
tabasa has like 3 fireballs, a globe on ground or in the air, the ghost which she can run up behing, an ice splinter from her palm and can also send out a bird thing.... she also has what seems to be a dp...
 
hugo seems to be his sf3 moveset plus he is huge he is twice the size of almost all the other characters with earthquake being about 75% the size of hugo... ive never seen a fighter this big in a serious style game.. his hair touches into the energy bar for gods sake?????
 
genjuro seems to be his sam sho 4 moveset (maybe a combo of both, he has his fireball, the rush 3 hit, his stab throw etc)
 
vega (psycho crusher) seems similar moveset to cvs2 he looks cool though with a permanent evil smirk, buff but not too buff sprite and a lot of energy off his punches..
 
sagat looks amazing as far as im concerned.. the way he is hunched just looks fucking cool, like a really exaggerated muay thai style stance which i find much cooler than adon... moves seem like alpha...
 
balrog seems to have crazy off the wall supers (throws and attacks) plus all his alpha moves, sprite looks ok but his roll attack looks a little strange)
 
kasumi is a new sprite it seems her moves seem like in aof 3, fireball air and ground, reversal and a three hit attack....
 
terry has the buster wolf VERY COOL LOOKING and quite effective, doesnt seem to have his dp but does have the power dunk..
 
earthquake is AMAZING he really looks cool and has heaps of cool moves.. teleports, the spin down from mid aior...get this his fart is now a prokjectile like genans cloud and it moves really slow, both his supers seem completely new with a rolento style chain from the top that pulls you up and you explode plus a chain out in front of him that reaches almost all the way to the other side of the screen and spins
