Greetings,
In response to you inquiries we are Barracuda Ultra ATA IV and Barracuda V
are 7,200-rpm hard drives. Both models have Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB)
motors that makes them the world's only virtually silent hard drives. The
Barracuda V is a new model and it will be the best combination of
performance, acoustics and reliability. There are no significant
differences other than the Barracuda V has a slower transfer rate so it
can be used in a RAID. The RAID controller cards had trouble with a 50
Mega Bytes per Second transfer so it is slowed down to 44MB/sec.

Donc apparemment oui, le ATA V seront meilleurs que les ATA IV en Raid, les taux de transferts ont été réduits pour être compatibles avec les contrôleurs Raid IDE qui avaient du mal avec les taux à 50Mo/s.
