The disc reportedly features a full set from the band's sold-out hometown show at The Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver recorded earlier this year, plus some "hilarious" backstage antics and video clips. A late 2004 release through Century Media is expected.
 
In other news, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD are scheduled to enter Armoury studios in Vancouver, B.C. on August 19 to begin recording their fourth album, tentatively due in early 2005. Devin is scheduled to produce the effort, and the band are promising "a full heavy metal shitstorm." Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Love", "Imperial", "Jux", "Black Infinite" and "Zen Of Metal".

STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, the Canadian extreme metal band led by guitarist/vocalist Devin Townsend, entered The Armoury Studios in Vancouver, B.C. on Thursday (August 19) to begin recording their fourth album. Devin is producing the effort, while engineering duties are being handled by Shaun Thingvold. A "making of the record" documentary is being filmed for the digipak version of the album, which is tentatively due in early 2005 through Century Media Records. Among the 10 songs set to appear on the CD are the following:

STRAPPING YOUNG LAD completed the drum tracks for the follow-up to 2002's "SYL" late August at the Armoury in Vancouver. It took drummer Gene Hoglan (DARK ANGEL, ex-DEATH) only three days to pound through 11 tracks before the band moved on to Greenhouse Studios (also in Vancouver) to record the guitars and vocals. The remaining work will be done in SYL mainman Devin Townsend's studio in Maple Ridge (suburb of Vancouver). An early 2005 release is expected.

j'avions decouvert recemment strapping young lad avec l'album city.
j'aime beaucoup le morceau aaa et trouve pour le moment le reste trop bruitiste/confus, limite chiant meme.
donc, y'aurait quoi dans leur discographie qui soit plus dans la veine de aaa?
sachant qu'au depart, j'aime bien des trucs comme ministry, fla periode guitares, le roots de sepultura, les revolting cocks, etc...

mais quelle tarlouze...
 
réécoute l'album, ça a l'air fouilli mais ça ne l'est pas, faut s'donner les moyens

pour les albums, le 1er, Heavy As A Really Heavy Thing, est pas forcément le meilleur mais c'est celui qui touche le plus à l'indus (au passage, Devin et Jed Simon ont tous deux bossé avec FLA par le passé)

la FNAC l'annonce en import zone 1, mais à mon avis vu le statut du groupe, je crois que ce doit être un simple zone free

When you've got the entire world against you, you turn to yer brother, yer comrade. You look him in the eye and say, 'Alright, motherfucker, whatta you got?' and then he shows ya.  
 
"Every piece of what's goin' on in your lives comes pouring out, all the spite, vitriol, and glory. Two men, masters at what they do, lettin' it flow. Hell, more like 'flood'. Fuck yeah, The Dev and myself, laying down foundations like caffiene-maddened brickmasons, each idea unfolding easier than the last. United, bonded by 'fuck you' to all things spineless, waving goodbye to the world with a pair of up-turned middle fingers.

'Skeksis', 'Shitstorm', and a pile of crazy ideas that we might use for the next one birthed themselves from those sessions.
