Spanning Tree Auto Fast Start or Fast Start disabled on end station ports
Ideally, switch ports connected to end stations should have Spanning Tree Auto Fast Start enabled. This is also called Edge-Port Mode on some devices. If the device does not support Auto Fast Start, then they should have Spanning Tree Fast Start enabled instead. If neither are enabled, users connected to these ports may experience delays and interrupted service.
One exception to this rule applies to Apple Macintosh computers, which are incompatible with Auto Fast Start, and with older implementations of Fast Start. As such, please ensure that your devices are running the latest agents, and enable Spanning Tree Fast Start on these ports.
The following ports are connected to end stations, but have neither Spanning Tree Auto Fast Start or Spanning Tree Fast Start enabled.
Remedies:
* Reconfigure the port to enable Spanning Tree Auto Fast Start. This is also called Edge-Port Mode on some devices
* If Spanning Tree Auto Fast Start is not supported, reconfigure the port to enable Spanning Tree Fast Start.
* For ports connected to Apple Macintosh computers, ensure that your device is running the latest agent and reconfigure the port to enable Spanning Tree Fast Start.
