Bonjour à tous. Bon oui je sais ce sujet a déjà été abordé des milliards de fois mais malgré tous les forums que j'ai eu beau éplucher, il n'y a pas de réponse à ma question.
 
Donc voila, je suis un maxi noob à Linux mais je me débat depuis déjà 2 semaines pour installer mes pilotes ATI.
 
Je DL les drivers sur le site constructeur, je suis le readme à la lettre.
 
Sauf que...(car il ya un sauf que...)après avoir installé le RPM (rpm -Uh blablabla) il me dit d'aller exécuter make.sh (dans /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod) puis make_install.sh (dans /lib/modules/fglrx). Alors je me dis, bon ok pas de prob.
 
Et puis, quand je me rends dans le directory indiqué et que je lance la commande "sh make.sh" il me sort un message d'erreur : "kernel includes at /usr/src/linux/include not found or incomplete. File : /usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h"
 
J'ai quand même à tout hasard lancé fglrxconfig et j'ai répondu aux questions mais bon, je suis toujours sous VGA et ma carte n'est toujours pas indiqué dans le gestionnaire de matériel...

Tu tappe en etant en root:
#urpmi kernel-source ( si ton kernel est celui d origine ) sinon kernel2.x-source

bon je reviens vous faire chier parce que je suis encore coincé !
 
alors j'ai DL et install le kernel source comme vous m'avez dit, pi j'ai procédé à l'install des drivers ATI, ça avait l'air de bien se passer.
 
ensuite j'ai lancé fglrxconfig, j'ai répondu aux questions correctement, et pis au final quand je fais startx et ben rien, écran noir. alors j'ai essayé de répondre différemment au fglrxconfig mais pour l'instant rien du tout... :( HELP

check le support de ton chipset AGP

je te conseille la 1ère méthode ( mettre le module gérant ton chipset AGP dans /etc/modprobe.preload )
 
si cela ne marche pas montre les log de XFree ( /var/log/XFree86.0.log )

Voila d'après ce que je comprends, il faut desactiver l'AGP, mais qu'en est il du message sur l'accélèration 3D ?

Bon je viens de quasiment tout laisser par défaut dans le fglrxconfig, j'ai mis non pour toutes ce qui concerne l'AGP. Chai encore une fois plus quoi faire... HELP

c'est bon j'ai trouvé. C'est un SiS746FX le chipset. Il ne reste plus qu'a voir comment il est supporté sous linux.

bon et bien le support de ce chipset semble plutot aleatoire. Premiere chose a faire a mon avis c'est de passer à un kernel 2.6 . A partir de ce moment la tu pourras eventuellement faire marcher les drivers de ta carte graphique. Sinon essaye eventuellement avec les drivers de chez Schneider, ils fonctionnent mieux sur les noyaux en 2.4 :

Bon dans la série "Le noob verni", les bizarreries continuent.
 
Le kernel 2.6 refuse de s'installer (il m'affiche un tas de choses incompréhensibles et sous GUI, il me dit qu'il manque des dépendances).
 
Le driver firegl refuse également de s'installer, il ne détecte pas XFree 4.3 (alors que pourtant...il y est...).
 
J'en peux plus...

le plus simple est d'ajouter une source main et contrib de la mdk 10.0 ou de cooker, et de faire : "urpmi kernel-2.6"

Très bonne surprise, à l'install hier de la mandrake 10 community. Ma ATI a été reconnu direct à l'install et quel bonheur d'être enfin sous Linux en 85 hz ! :) Me restes plus qu'à parvenir inespéremment à faire tourner ma connec AOL ADSL... :S
