Je suis nouveau dans le monde de Linux, et je n'arrive pas à avoir de dual boot, et ce dans deux cas.
 

  • Une première fois, j'avais déjà une partition windows, ensuite j'ai installé ubuntu : pas de grub au démarrage.


  • Une deuxième fois, j'avais une partition ubuntu (la même que précédemment), puis j'ai réinstallé une partition windows : toujours pas de gub.


Mes deux partitions sont sur mon disque dur sata, et j'ai deux autres durs en ide (formaté en fat 32 pour les uttiliser au maximum avec les deux os) où il n'y a que des données.

Si quelqu'un pouvait me venir en aide se serait super !  :jap:
 
PS : pour ceux que ça intéresse, il y a nouveau logiciel de virtual machine (qui permet de booter un autre os lorsque l'ordinateur est déjà lancé) qui est libre et gratuit, c'est virtuabox (j'ai perdu le lien du site...).

En attendant une éventulle réponse, j'ai trouvé une solution : modifier le boot.ini (l'équivalent du grub chez windows), afin de le faire détecter la partition windows. La procédure en anglais est par ici.

Windows d'abord et Linux ensuite.
L'installation de Windows écrase le MBR.

Certes ui, mais j'ai eu deux étapes :
 
 

  • une install de windows, ensuite j'ai installé ubuntu 6.06 : le grub ne se lancait pas.


  • puis l'invers, avec l'install précédente d'ubuntu et une nouvelle instal de xp : le grub ne se lancait toujours pas, mais là ca me parait normal...


 
Donc au final, même après une install toute frâiche d'ubunu, je n'avais pas le grub qui se lancait au démarrage. Du coup, pour lancer ubuntu, je le fait avec le live cd d'ubuntu. Une fois que le menu de ce dernier est lancé, je sélectionne l'option qui me fait booter sur les disques durs (et non le cd), et là, le grub se lance...  :??:  C'est le seul moyen que j'ai trouvé pour lancer mon install d'ubuntu...
 
Je vais essayer mon astuce de boot.ini demain.

Réinstalles ton MBR, ca ira plus vite (LiveCD + chroot, ca devrait le faire).

J'ai suivi tes conseil, et maintenant, mon grub se lance, et je peux lancer mes partitions ubuntu.
 
Le soucis réside pour la partition windows que je n'arrive plus à lancer...
 
Je vais essayer divers manip pour résoudre ce problème.
