non, j'avais eu le même pb. les clients de base sont pas obligatoires. ils estiment que tu peux passer par xdm ou équivalent par exemple ou que tu peux choisir d'utiliser sf86setup

La gestion des tâches a changé. Maintenant, si tu vas dans aptitude, tu vois les tâches à part, avec leur contenu, c'est très bien foutu.
 
Edit : donc pour résumer, tu fais apt-get install aptitude, tu vas dans aptitude, et tu fais un + sur toutes les tâches qui t'intéressent (à commencer par x-window-system, parce que là il t'en manque les 3/4, et ça peut durer longtemps comme ça).

Oui, mais à priori ça ne marchera pas tout seul (il faut installer discover pour qu'il charge les modules USB ou utiliser modconf pour les charger à la mimine).

Il commence par mettre à jour tout ton système. Et puis avec quelques tâches, c'est vite fait.

C'est pas une radeon 7500, ça ?
 
Si c'est le cas, faut prendre le driver "vesa", ou installer Xfree 4.2.

si c'est une woody c'est XFree-4.
si c'est XFree-4 il faut un XF86Config-4
donc les modifs vont dans XF86Config-4
 
si ça merde, on veut voir /var/log/XFree86.0.log

ton problème c'est que dans le fichier donné par manu on utilise le device /dev/mouse pour la souris et /dev/mouse est sensé être un lien symbolique vers le bon device.
Dans ton cas le plus simple est de modifier cette ligne ou de créé ce lien:
 
ln -s /dev/input/mice /dev/mouse

Si tu as une souris USB, il faut charger les modules pour la faire marcher...
 
Essaye apt-get install discover, normalement il devrait s'en occuper.

tains ça c de l'install de Debian où je ne m'y connais pas :D  
 
J'en ai installé des kilo tonnes de deb (patate, woody, sid) et tu poses des question de debconf que j'ai jamais eu :hap:  
 
pour ton prob de ssh, tu fais apt-get install ssh
