L'installation ne s'effectuera que si dans les options internet du navigateur, dans la page "sécurité", (bouton personnaliser le niveau...) tous les boutons radio Contrôles ActiveX sont en position "activer" (eventuellement "Demandé", auquel cas une autorisation sera demandée avant l'exécution des Contrôles ActiveX).
Les clés de la base de registre qui permettent d'activer les Contrôles ActiveX sur une station Windows 9x sont les suivantes :
