Dans tous les DVCS que j'ai testé (Mercurial, Git et Darcs, et je suis à peu près certain que Bzr fonctionne aussi comme ça), une révision ou un patch a 1 ou 2 parents. Avec un parent c'est une révision normale (sur une "branche", bien que le concept n'ait pas trop de sens avec darcs) et avec 2 parents c'est un merge (merge revision dans git ou mercurial, merger patch dans darcs) dont le but est de dire "la branche A et la branche B se rejoignent ici" et de résoudre les conflits potentiels. Avoir n branches dans le merge ça serait super bordélique, quand il faut republier. 'fin bon tout ça pour dire que cette partie là ne me gène pas et ne me choque pas.
