Duron 1.2 on A7V 1.02

I have an A7V v1.02, currently with 1009 BIOS. I currently have a Thunderbird 800MHz CPU, and I just put in a Duron 1.2GHz. It doesn't boot in jumper free mode, and I tried jumper mode without success too.
Do I need to upgrade the BIOS to 1011? Should 1009 be sufficient? Do I need to use jumper mode instead? Clear the CMOS? =============================================================

I have A7V rev. 1.02 with BIOS 1010A and the Duron 1.2 only works in Jumper-Mode, it only worked AFTER I set the Voltage jumpers to 1.65V (mistake, but it booted). Now voltage is on 1.75V nothing overklocked (and it works like a charm). =============================================================

Did you have to set the core voltage specifically to 1.75V, or does it work to leave it on the "CPU default/JumperFree" setting? =============================================================

I had to set to 1.75V
well as said before: it booted with 1.65V, but it did NOT boot when set to CPU default/Jumper free.
So maybe I (you) do not have to set the multiplier manually, but I had to set the voltage manually for sure.
(I set MP to 12 first, but it did not work untill I manually set the voltage). =============================================================

So all you did was MP12, VID to 1.75 and I suppose you also had to set CPU external to CPU100/PCI33 or did you leave this alone? I would think you ned to set it if in Jumper mode? No other MB switches to change then? Was thinking of Duron 1.3 this site seems to say that it'll work but there's no MP13. Though this site reads that "FSB 200 1.3Ghz Athlons interpret 12.5 as 13" for the Athlon so I wonder if anyone has tried this with 1.3 Duron and had success?

I have the combination A7V classic rev. 1.02 bios 1008 and a Duron 1.3. Works great with no problem. Set multiplier to 12.5 (detects as 13) and voltage to 1.7 by jumper.
Have overclocked the bus to 105 so it goes 1.365 Ghz.

I have this cpu (1,2gigs), with bios 1008 on a7v 1.02
It works in jumperfree mode, if you clear cmos after installing the cpu (that's what i did). So to get it to work in jumperfree mode, you should just set the dips to jumperfree back, and reset cmos (hardware reset, with the jumper). Then power it. It worked this way for a couple of us. Chaosworkz did it too.
Rock stable config, not overclocked, voltage autoselected itself to 1.75v ==========================================================
