My Wheel/Roller doesn't work in my game. What could be the problem?
A. First verify the wheel/roller works in other applications under Windows. Then verify the gaming software has native support for a wheel/roller pointing device and that the gaming software is correctly configured to use the wheel/roller. For more information on verifying native wheel/roller support, and/or configuring the wheel/roller, please consult the documentation provided with your gaming software. If the roller still does not function in your gaming software, you may need to contact the game manufacturer directly for more information.
By default, the MouseWare Control Center will send "Scroll Bar" wheel messages. If the gaming software being used supports Office compatible wheel messages, as most do, then you should use Office Compatible scrolling. Use the following instructions to turn this option on.
Click "Start," "Settings," then "Control Panel."
Double click the mouse icon.
Click the "Buttons" tab.
Place a check mark in the boxes for "Scroll in Active Window Only" and "Use Office Compatible Scroll Only."
Click the "Apply" button.
Verify the roller/wheel works in your game.
Please note that making these changes in the MouseWare control center will only allow scrolling in Office compatible programs. If you wish to maintain scrolling in other application, you may need to install the GAMEWHL.EXE file, located here.
Open the following Registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Logitech\MouseWare\CurrentVersion\Technical
Change the following key to read as shown: "MouseHookDLLEnable"="0"
Exit the Registry Editor (saving is automatic) and restart the system. Launch your game and test the wheel/roller to see if it now functional.
As a last resort, you may need to disable the Logitech mouse control center as described in the section titled "Alternate Method".
