salut,
 
J'utilise depuis quelques mois un serveur avec une Debian Woody et apache, mysql, php, proftpd. Tout en mode texte. Je l'utilise 95% du temps sans écran-clavier-souris (Vive ssh :))
 
Mais maintenant j'ai envie de lui mettre X, mais mon écran n'est pas reconnu  :cry: (Hercules ProphetView 720 TFT 15" )
 
J'ai eu le même problème avec une RedHat 7.2 (XFree 4.1 comme la Woody).
 
pour installer X, j'ai fait : apt-get install x-window-sytem

Aucun mode donné par XFree ne marche ?
même pas en 640x480 ?

Bah faut juste modifier les lignes qui faut de XF86Config dans Screen Section.

je croyais qu'il y avait une commande "startx -blabla640x480" ;)
 
j'ai mis en 640*480, en 16bits et meme erreur :(
