Euh... je viens d'aller sur le site de iRiver (les concepteurs du iMP-100, connu chez nous sous le nom de RioVolt) et je trouve sur la page de d/l des firmwares qu'on ne trouve pas chez Rio (qui sont bloqués à la version 2.01 depuis un bout de temps) : par exemple, la version 1.40 (pas la même numérotation que chez Rio) est sortie le 21 septembre, donc comme c'est meme pas une version test ni rien, elle doit marcher nickel.
 
Mais le prob c'est que j'aimerais bien savoir ce qu'il apporte ce firmware et le site est en Coréen :D (y'a pas en anglais, j'ai essayé). Donc si quelqu'un connait un moyen de savoir ce qu'il y a dans ce firmware, ca m'intéresse.

Petite précision : pour le flashage il ne devrait pas y avoir de problème vu que c'est EXACTEMENT le même lecteur (mêmes boutons, même ecran LCD) sauf la marque qui est iRiver là bas et Rio ici.
 
En plus, le fichier que j'ai avec la version 1.40 : IMP-100.hex semble être du même type que les versions disponibles chez Rio.
Voilà c'est tout.

c valable pour les version 1.35 TestVersion , 1.36 TV , 1.40 Final (donc version stable des 1.3x)
 
The major improvement/additions of 1.40 version are as follows:
 
This version supports Japanese Katakana. Hirakana is automatically
translated to Katakana.
 
This version remembers last-played 10 CDs.
By selecting 'RESUME ON', you can use fast CD recognition and resume over 10 CDs.
 
Supports winamp playlist.
-Make playlist files(m3u files) with winamp and save them and burn them on CD-R/W.
-Put in the CD-R/W, and press PLAY.
-Press STOP during the play.
-Press PROG when the player is stopped. You can choose either to program or m3u files.
Selecting a playlist files is similar to files navigation in NAVI mode.
You can use PLAY, STOP, NEXT, and BACK buttons.
 
Choosing to program lets you use program mode.
Choosing a m3u file lets you use one of the playlist files.
Supports up to 20 playlist files per CD.
Playlist feature will be convenient on Packet-formatted CDs.
 
Enhanced PROG feature.
You can program songs to play using NEXT, BACK, 10+, DIRECTORY buttons, and NAVI mode.
When the player is stopped, you can use NAVI mode and programs songs by pressing PROG button.
Pressing PROG button on a directory puts all the songs in the directory into playlist.
However, files under sub-directories are not added to the playlist.
Only the files on the selected directory is put into playlist.
Pressing MODE button in Prog mode deletes one programmed song.
 
PROGRAM SHUFFLE, PROGRAM INTRO mode added
When program mode or m3u files is used,
pressing MODE button cycles through REPEAT 1, REPEAT ALL, SHUFFLE, SHUFFLE ALL, INTRO modes.
You can shuffle your favorite directory if you program the directory and use SHUFFLE mode.
 
Queue the next song during play.
Pressing PROG in NAVI mode during play cueues the song and plays when the current song is finished.
STOP button erases the queue.
 
FADE IN when iRiver-100/RioVolt starts playing
You can use FADE IN when the machine starts playing in MENU-GENERAL-FADE IN-ON/OFF

This feature is for those who listen to loud songs  ]
 
Restore the default settings of firmware
You can restore the default settings of firmware options.
Choose MENU-GENERAL-LoadDefaults-YES, and then exit from the MENU or choose another menu items.
This will restore the default setting of firmware options.
 
Selectable LCD scroll speed
Scroll speed is now selectable from 1x to 12x.
Scroll speed options sets the number of characters to scroll at a time.
However, you can select only the information displayed during play.
 
AUTO PAUSE
This feature emulates KAREOKE feature.
You can select this options under MENU-CONTROL-AUTO PAUSE-ON.
When this option is on, you have to press PLAY after the disk loading.
With this option on, the player stops everytime when a song is finished.
To hear the next song, press PLAY.
(Translator's note: You can use this feature when you want need
and control gaps between songs  )
 
General (General setting)====================
 
BEEP SOUND.
You can turn ON and OFF the beep sound. You can also change the volume (1/2/3/4).
Please turn off the beep if you don't want
 
RESUME.
You can set resume ON or OFF.
If resume is ON, last used play mode will be preserved even after power off.
 
MP3 BUFFER.
Anti-shock buffer(MP3 BUFFER) can be set to 30sec or 60sec.
This applies only to MP3/WMA songs.
30sec option will force 30sec-120sec anti-shock buffer.
60sec option will force 60-120sec antishock buffer.
While 60sec options will be more shock-resistant, it will use more battery power.
Please use 30sec when you don't need anti-shock feature that much.
 
STUDY.
Study option will let you use language study features.
STOP button will rewind 5 sec(or 10sec).
(Long pressing STOP button will turn off the machine)
Short pressing EQ button will set 'interval repeat mode' (repeat ab).
(Long pressing EQ button will start menu mode)
These feature will not available when study option is off.
 
VOLUME STEP.
Volume step can be set to 40 or 20 steps.
Volume can be changed from 0 to 40 when '40'step is selected.
Volume can be changed from 0 to 20 when '20'step is selected.
However, this option only changes the number of steps, and does not change
the max volume.
 
LANGUAGE
Country code for character can be set to KOREA, JAPAN, and EU&US.
Choose KOREA to use CDs burned on Korean windows.
 
FADE IN
You can use FADE IN when the machine starts playing.
 
LoadDefault
You can restore the default settings of firmware options.
Choose MENU-GENERAL-LoadDefaults-YES, and then exit from the MENU or choose another menu items to reset the settings. This options is for those who made mistakes in choosing options.
 
-Display (Display settings)=========================
 
ADAPTER LIGHT.
If Adapter light option is on, LCD backlight will stay on when adapter is used.
If adapter light option is off,
LCD backlight will be turned on only when a button is pressed even when adapter is used.
Setting adpater light option to off will reduce power usage and increase the life of LCD backlight.
This option does not have any effect when batteries are used.
 
SCROLL SPEED
Scroll speed is now selectable from 1x to 12x.
Scroll speed options sets the number of characters to scroll at a time.
 
FILE EXT.
When FILE EXT is on, [MP3],[WMA],[CD],[ASF] will be displayed.
When FILE EXT is off, [MP3],[WMA],[CD],[ASF] will not be display.
 
TAG INFO.
When TAG INFO is on, tag infomation will be displayed if avaiable.
When TAG INFO is off, file name will be displayed.
Changing TAG INFO to off during play may not prevent from displaying the tag information
of the already played songs and the songs automatically read into the buffer.
 
TIME INFO.
When REMAINING option is on, the remaining time will be displayed.
Remaining time of VBR encoded files may not be correctly displayed.
When NORMAL option is selected, the time elasped will be displayed.
 
TIMER (auto power off time setting)==================================
 
SLEEP TIMER.
This option sets sleep timer.
Available options are OFF/10/20/30/40/50/60/70/80/90 min.
The machine will turn off automatically after the designated time.
 
STOP POWER OFF.
You can set 30sec/10min/20min/30min/40min/50min/60min for this option.
The is related to battery life, so please use the shortest time if possible.
 
CONTROL============================================================
 
FF/RW SCAN.
When FF/RW SCAN is on, long pressing NEXT/BACK button will perform fast search within the song.
Short pressing EXT/BACK button will let you skip to the next/previous song.
However, fast search with mp3 files will not be as smooth as in AudioCD player.
It also may not work properly with VBR mp3 files.
When FF/RW SCAN is off, long pressing NEXT/BACK button will perform fast search between songs.
 
RW/FW SKIP.
You can set +10/-10 or DIRECTORY.
When +10/-10 is selected,
short press followed by long press of NEXT/BACK button will let you skip
to the previous 10th song or the next 10th song.
When DIRECTORY is selected,
You can skip to the previous/next directory by short+long pressing RW/FF.
 
FF/RW SPEED.
This option sets the fast search speed.
1X/2X/4X/6X
This option sets the speed in fast search feature or language study. (?)
 
EQ BUTTON.
This option lets you use EQ Button as EQ/PROG/MODE/NAVI button.
When EQ/PROG/MODE/NAVI is selected, EQ button will work as EQ/PROG/MODE/NAVI button.
 
AUTO PAUSE

when it finish playing all the songs in the current directory.
 
REPEAT DIR ALL
This will enable/disable REPEAT DIR ALL feature.
This feature will repeat songs in the current directories.
 
REPEAT ALL.
This feature will play through all songs in the current disk.
 
SHUFFLE.
Ramdomly play all the songs in the current disk.
Stops after all the songs are played.
 
SHUFFLE 1
Repeat the song randomly selected.
 
SHUFFLE DIR ALL
Randomly play the songs in the current directory.
 
SHUFFLE ALL
Randomly plays songs from the current disk.
 
INTRO
Plays the first 10sec of each song.
 
INTRO HIGHLIGHT
Plays 10sec after 1min of each song.
 
USER DEF EQ (User defined EQ setting) ===================
 
BASS BOOST.
Bass boost can be set from 0 to 12db.
 
BASS FREQ.
Bass frequency can be set to 50Hz, 100Hz, 200Hz.
Bass will be boosted under the frequency set

Je pense donc que je vais updater le firmware de mon RioVolt en 1.40. Les fonctions comme la sélection de la vitesse de scroll du texte ou le support de fichiers .m3u m'intéressent pas mal. :p
