Qu'est-ce que c'est ?

Le focus peaking, c'est une aide à la mise au point. Ca se traduit par des lignes ou des points très rapprochés qui indiquent que tu es au point sur un élément donné. Ex : si tu fais ta map sur un visage, il sera comme mis en évidence par le focus peaking.  
 
Après, c'est une aide, faut quand même avoir des yeux et bien vérifier que sa map est bonne (il m'est arrivé d'avoir un focus peaking là ou je voulais mais map reste molle). Mais on va dire que ça aide à aller dans le bon sens.

Je reviens tout juste de l'AFC où j'ai pu interviewer un certain nombre de constructeurs au nombre desquels :

- Panasonic, Sony, Fuji et Sigma pour les boitiers (ni Canon, ni Arri n'ont eu la disponibilité pour m'accorder cette ITV, mais RDV est pris avec Arri pour en rediscuter à leur workshop parisien...)

Heureusement le GH6 est annoncé et arrive très bientôt avec déjà quelques belles spécifications dévoilées comme le DCI 4K 60p 422 10 bits en interne mais surtout un nouveau capteur (peut-être le fameux capteur organique qu'ils nous avaient annoncé pour 2020 mais qui n'est jamais sorti)

Mais sérieux,  qui a besoin d'une telle complexité de formats vidéo  ?

 
Il n'y a rien de complexe là-dedans Zygo. Pour les utilisateurs concernés, on a clairement pas le droit de faire la fine bouche. Plus il y en a mieux c'est je dirais même.

Mais concrètement ça t'apporte quoi d'avoir whatmille possibilités de format ?

Blague à part. C'est un peu comme si tu me disais à quoi ça servait d'avoir une voiture haute de gamme full option. Quelque part ça n'a pas forcément de sens. Car même si j'imagine que oui, dans ces options il y a des choses dont je me servirai jamais mais quand bien même. Ça reste toujours bien de les avoir à disposition. Si c'est pas moi qui m'en servira, d'autres sauront toujours quoi en faire.  
 
Puis on parle d'un GH là. Et forcément "qui peut le + peut le -". C'est l'amiral de Panasonic en m4/3, ça me semble tout à fait cohérent qu'il soit dans la démesure côté specs vidéos.
 
Côté format. Il n'y a vraiment rien de complexe là-dedans. Absolument tout est personnalisable. Tu peux afficher uniquement les formats qui t'intéresse... Ils ont pensé à tous les types d'usages tout simplement et on ne peut pas leur reprocher ça.

Chaque format a ses spécificités, ses avantages et ses inconvénients.
Pouvoir choisir en fonction du projet celui qui convient le mieux c'est un luxe quand on est de la partie

Si il y a des points très précis qui vous intéressent, si vous êtes sur Paris et que vous voulez prendre en main la bestiole, ça peut se faire aussi

je reviens (enfin) dans le coin pour vous inviter à découvrir mon dernier projet qui a été un véritable baptême du feu pour le GH6 !

C'était pour ainsi dire l'occasion parfaite pour inaugurer l'appareil que je venais tout juste de recevoir quelques semaines après sa présentation officielle. Comme vous pourrez le constater, les conditions étaient assez exceptionnelles ! Tout était réuni pour mettre à mal le boitier et tester ses nouvelles fonctionnalités comme la 4K 120 fps, le nouvel autofocus, la stabilisation, la montée en ISO... Mais l'un des points les plus importants pour mon collègue et moi fût bien évidemment la découverte de la nouvelle color science proposée par les ingés de Lumix. Il était effectivement très important pour nous que nos caméras "match" parfaitement le jour du tournage. Surtout dans des conditions aussi compliquées qu'une captation de concert dans une chapelle (!).
 
Le projet a donc été tourné au GH6 mais aussi au S5. Et je peux vous confirmer que la nouvelle color science du GH6 est presque quasi-identique à celle du S5. D'ailleurs, en dehors des interviews je vous met au défi de me trouver les plans filmés en micro 4/3 et les autres filmés en 24x36    Nous avons aussi été bluffé par la stabilisation du boitier assez incroyable. Tous les plans du GH6 ont été tournés à mains levées.
 
Et pour finir, côté photo le boitier s'en sort très bien. Il ne remplira certainement pas les besoins d'un photographe mettons nous d'accord. Mais il saura pleinement satisfaire les utilisateurs polyvalents et notamment les vidéastes qui auront besoin de prendre des photos pendant leurs tournages :

Pour les plus curieux d'entre vous, vous avez la liste complète du matériel utilisé pour notre tournage dans la description de la vidéo. Si vous avez des questions/remarques, n'hésitez pas !  

Intéressant.  
 
Si je puis me permettre quelques critiques constructives : fait attention pour les ITV à mettre toutes les cam à ta droite ou à ta gauche et pas plan serré d'un côté et large de l'autre, c'est un peu gênant. L'essentiel est là : le son est correct.
 
Quelques très beau plans, d'autres dont le diaph est un peu aléatoire (1"41 : visages surex, dans ce genre de plan le risque est de régler l'expo sur ce que tu as dans le champs et oublier de privilégier la bonne expo des visages). Côté étalo : idem quelques bonnes choses mais pas toujours très homogène.

Sinon j'ai aussi un S5 et son gros défaut (avec l'AF) est un HFR bas de gamme car à débit constant alors que le débit devrait augmenter avec le framerate...
Je suppose que c'est pas corrigé sur le GH6.
Le GH5 proposait des framerate de malade mais les plus rapide étaient tellement compressés que c'était inexploitable. Perso je ne pousse jamais au delà de 120 fps.

Idem : si tu pouvais nous faire un petit test en basses lumières, ce serait bien sympa.

Tu as parfaitement raison concernant les interviews et le placement des cam   . Le peu de temps qu'on avait et de petites contraintes nous ont poussés à vite les emballer. La prochaine fois on ne m'y reprendra pas.
 
Du côté des plans ben c'est vrai que dans de telles conditions tu ne peux que t'amuser. Alors sur ce plan surex, je voulais (devais) privilégier le public. C'était le plus beau plan qu'on avait au stead où nous avions à la fois la scène et la présence du public de cet angle. Manque de bol, l'éclairage de la scène était complètement aux fraises à ce moment là.
 
Côté étalo quels plans selon toi ne rend pas le tout homogène. Ça m'intéresse. En tout cas merci pour tes retours

Concernant le DRB, il faudrait aussi préciser qu'il est tout à fait possible de l'utiliser en dehors du v-log. Beaucoup pensent que cette fonction n'est réservé qu'au v-log mais en réalité il fonctionne aussi avec les profils d'images prêt à l'emploi (naturel, portrait, standard...). Un compromis plutôt intéressant puisque l'on commence à 800 ISO contre 2000 en v-log.  
 
Si l'on souhaite augmenter sa plage dynamique et notamment récupérer une meilleure gestion du bruit dans les hautes sensibilités, tant que l'on est équipé de filtre nd, je ne vois pas pourquoi on devrait s'en priver. Cependant, le drb ne fonctionne pas en hfr 4k 120p

Je pensais faire l'acquisition du GH5 pour avoir un peu plus de possibilité niveau vidéo.
 
Ce serait pour remplacer mon G85 qui me va très bien pour la photo.
 
Pensez-vous que je vais perdre en qualité photo en passant au GH5?
 
Sinon j'avais pensé au G90 mais il me semble que niveau vidéo il est un cran en dessous avec un crop en vidéo 4K.
