Salut,

I've successfully converted my Asus F8SN from Vista to XP.
Get all XP drivers here..http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us
Select Notebook->F8 Series->F8SN
Steps to convert Vista to XP in F8SN
1) Get a Ubuntu Live CD done
2) Start Ubuntu from Live CD
3) In Ubuntu, go to Applications->Accessories->Terminal
4) To get to root user, enter sudo su
5) Start gparted to remove all partitions on F8SN leaving only one, enter gparted
6) Download the software nLite and learn to use, very simple (http://www.anewmorning.com/2008/01/3...llation-cddvd/)
7) Using nLite, do a slipstream with
WinXP CD,
XP Service Pack 2 (compulsory to overcome pci.sys error in installation) and
the SATA WinXP driver (found in Others->Intel Matrix Storage Manager from the Asus support link above, choose iastor.inf then Intel 82801 HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller).
8) Go to the F8SN bios, change IDE Configuration from Enhanced to Compatible
9) Using the slipstream CD created, install WinXP
10) Follow through Step B- Install without floppy in http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?...Language=en-us
11) Install the WinXP drivers from link above and ENJOY!
