ShareReactor is a web-based interface for the filesharing system known as eDonkey2000. Basically, ShareReactor is a catalog that keeps visitors informed of new releases available through the eDonkey network. More importantly, ShareReactor provides hyperlinks that initiate searches via eDonkey software. In other words, ShareReactor does not host copyright infringing files, nor do they link to infringing files, but they automate the search process for infringing files. For the most part, courts have been reluctant to find linking illegal. It is an interesting question as to whether automating a search process, which is a special case of linking, would have more or less protection.
