Hi guys, well after digging out BZII I came across a problem that doesn't seem to be highlighted anywhere. You see I've got Win2k and was faced with the dilemma of not being able to install it.

To enable compatibility mode for Win2k:

Make sure you are running Service Pack 2 for Win2k.

Log on as Administrator.

Click Start, and then click Run.

In the Open box, type the following command, and then click OK, where %SystemRoot% is the drive and folder in which Windows is installed:

regsvr32 %systemroot%\apppatch\slayerui.dll

IE regsvr32 c:\winnt\apppatch\slayerui.dll

If you've done it correctly you will be prompted with a 'succeeded' message.

When you then create a shortcut to the setup.exe on the BZII cd as per the instructions on the above URL the compatibility tab will be shown on the shortcuts properties.

This will then allow install on win2k and don't forget to run the latest patch.

Just spent a few hours catching up.... bliss!!

Ben a part le Service pack 2, j'ai rien installe d'autre.
Ceci dit la presence de cet onglet m'a surpris, puisque je me souviens l'avoir cherche une fois mais sans succes :??:
A croire qu'il est apparu tout seul :pt1cable:

bon alors ds cecas il n y pas l onglet de compatibiliter sur win2k pro fra a moin ke tu aille installer qqc de speic

Bha c'est un clone de CS... pas trop mauvais, juste moyen a mon gout, mais avec un moteur resaux assez mal foutu.
Y'a un topic dessus fait par Prodigy .

C'est bon ça marche :), il faut faire comme dit plus haut, et aussi lancer le jeu en mode compatibilitee windows 95.
Sinon on a crash apres le loading des missions.
Reste plus qu'a faire fonctioner ce ftp... :fou: :sweat:

Ouais bon c'est la premiere fois que j'utilise mon ftp chez multmania :D.

Aparement l'installation se lance sans prob j'en suis a 80%.

Je suis sous Win2k server, mais je pense pas que ça doit changer grand chose.

Ben faut faire comme ils disent , click droit sur le racoucis, puis proprietees, j'avais jamais remarque cet onglet.
J'essayerais toute a l'heure.

Ben je sais pas alors j'ai fait un tour sur BZ planet, ils donnent apparement les memes astuces que ntcompatible.com:

1. Open the BZ2 CD
2. Go to the Setup directory
3. Right-click on Setup.exe, and drag it onto the desktop.
4. Right-click on the shortcut, and select Properties.
5. Select the "Compatibility" tab.
6. Check the "Run in compatibility mode" box.
7. Select "Windows 95 Compatibility Layer" in the popup.
8. Click "OK" to close the Properties dialog box.
9. Double-click on the shortcut to install BZ2.

Si quelqu'un trouve la solution, ça serait sympa de la poster, j'aimerais bien m'y remettre a BZ2 surtout avec le nouvel add-on :love:.

bon ok je me suis permis cette extraordinaire blague car j'ai cru comprendre d'apres certains de tes posts que tu etais un petit plaisantin.
plus serieusement regarde si tu n'as pas un message dans le journal d'evenement, je sais ça parait con comme ça mais on sait jamais !
D'apres le nom que tu donnes "instemp", tu devrais peut etre vider le contenu de ton repertoire temporaire soit c:\temp ou c:\windows\temp ou autre a toi de voir !

Nous avons donc :

- dans le coin gauche, un CD français de Battlezone II, tout à fait normal, rien de spécial, légit et tout.

- dans le coin opposé, un Windows 2000, avec un Duron 800 + Voodoo 5 (ça devrait tourner normalement ça non), DirectX les derniers drivers le SPack 2 & l'application compatibility update

Au moment de l'installation, j'ai une belle erreur Windows du fichier _instemp je sais pas koi, en bref, ça plante. J'ai essayé de copier le CD et d'installer depuis le dur, de copier un .icd d'un autre jeu Activision (SoF), de faire un raccourci vers Setup.exe en mettant le mode compatibilité Win95 ou Win98, ça marche po, ça plante :(
