Boot up in standard VGA mode. 2. Now, remove all ATI drivers and ATI software: Go to Control Panel, select Add Remove Programs; Remove the ATI Display Driver, click ok; Do not reboot yet. Remove the ATI Software (Multimedia Center /Teletext and/ or DVD player if applicable); Do not reboot yet. Click on Start Click on Find, select Files/Folders Type ati*.* When Windows has found all ATI files, please delete them all. Reboot the system. 3. Please ensure that you have checked these BIOS settings. WARNING! Incorrect changes to CMOS may prevent the system from booting. Before making changes to CMOS settings, please ensure that you are familiar with the procedures for restoring default settings. Consult the documentation for your motherboard and/or your system. The exact names of CMOS settings may vary from system to system. Not all systems will offer the options listed below. These settings (if they appear) will normally be found in the CHIPSET SETUP or CHIPSET FEATURES portion of CMOS. AGP Bus Turbo Mode AGP Turbo DISABLED Primary Frame Buffer VGA Frame Buffer DISABLED AGP 1X/2X/4X Should be set to match the capabilities of the graphics adapter AGP Aperture Size AGP Aperture DEFAULT or 64MB 4. After you have checked the BIOS, please boot up in Normal Mode. 5. Please ensure that you have the latest AGP drivers installed for the chipset on your motherboard. AGP drivers can be updated from the motherboard manufacturer's website - http://support.ati.com/info/mother [...] urers.html or chipset's manufacturer's - http://support.ati.com/info/chipset_manufacturers.html 6. Be sure that you have the latest version of Microsoft DirectX installed in your system. You can check your DirectX version using DXDiag (Click on "Start"; "Run"; Type "dxdiag" and click OK). Please be also sure that you install the additional software related to DirectX (e.g. the Digital Video Update for DirectX 8): http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/ 7. Launch the extraction of the ATI Driver downloaded file, but exit installation, as soon as it starts. 8. Now you can install the driver manually: Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel; Click on the Display icon to open Display Properties; Click on the Settings tab in Display Properties and click on the Advanced button Click on the button Change graphics adapter and Next; Select "Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want." Select " Show all devices ". Click on " Have disk ". Browse your hard drive to find the directory of the driver: if from the downloaded file: C / ATI / Support / Wxx_8500_x_xx_xxxx.exe / AtiDrive (for Radeon 8500) C / ATI / Support / Wxx_RADEON_x_xx_xxxx.exe / AtiDrive (for other Radeon products) C / ATI / Support / Wxx_R128_x_xx_xxxx.exe / AtiDrive (for Rage 128/128 Pro products) if from the ATI Installation CD: note: the last 2 letters of the folder name indicate the Operating System (2k - Windows 2000) CD / Install / R200XX / AtiDrive (for Radeon 8500) CD / Install / R6XX / AtiDrive (for other Radeon products) CD / Install / R128XX / AtiDrive (for Rage 128/128 Pro products) and select any *.inf in this directory. Follow the screen instructions to complete the driver installation. Reboot your system. :hello: |
