OMEGADRIVE here!
This are my "optimized" drivers for the ATI Radeon family
of video cards, this version (Omega 1.4.12) is for
Windows 9x/ME.
Special note:
THIS DRIVERS ARE MADE FOR GAMES, NOT BENCHMARKS!!!
THEY FIX GRAPHICAL ERRORS, STABILITY PROBLEMS
AND SOME SPEED ISSUES ONLY IN GAMES.
THEY ADD VISUAL QUALITY, STABILITY AND MORE OPTIONS.
IF YOU WANT DRIVERS FOR BENCHMARKS DOWNLOAD ATI'S
ORIGINAL DRIVERS INSTEAD FOR 3DMARK2K1 AND OTHER
BENCHMARKS.
New (Omega 1.4.12):
* Using the core drivers 9012, they are a VERY BIG improvment over
the last ones.
* Fixed the NATURE speed test in 3dm2k1 with my drivers, now you
should see a really big improvement.
* Included some new goodies with the drivers, they are in the extracted
folder, Enjoy!
Old (Omega 1.4.08a):
* Re-Enabled HierarchicalZ for D3D and OpenGL, the speed problems
where greater than graphics problems, now the speed should be
up to par with the ATI drivers.
* Changed an ATI setting that makes the drivers IGNORE your Windows
monitor settings and use ATI's internal settings instead. Anyone
with refresh rate problems or lockups when starting some games
after version 72xx of ATI's drivers should try these now and see
if the problem goes away.
* Now 1280x960 should be working with higher refresh rates again,
tried to fix other refesh rates, but ATI hard coded the refresh
rate for 960x720 and other resolutions, so there is no change
there.
Old (Omega 1.4.08):
* Re-incorporated the 848x480 resolution since somebody informed
me that it is used for Widescreen Video Output, but I still
think is completly useless as a desktop resolution.
* Added a new custom resolution, 960x720, but the only problem
is that it only runs in 60Hz, other refresh rates didn't worked.
* Re-enabled "FogTable" emulation ONLY for the 8500 Radeon cards
since it's the only Radeon card that supports it.
* Disabled HierarchicalZ in OpenGL and Direct3D, it was giving
problems for many people and the speed change in games is
almost null.
* Added a new fix that will prevent the "OpenGL driver not
found" error in ANY OpenGL game.
* Included the Dx Control Panel with the drivers.
* Re-enabled V-Sinc by default.
* Included the extra Language removal tool.
