ODESIA Solutions Inc. is looking for a senior BI and DWH Analyst for a permanent position in Business Intelligence Department.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Core duties:
• Translates business requirements into functional requirements
• Uses DWH Framework, guidelines and standards  
• Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the DWH evolution and/or improvements
• Evaluates business requirements in terms of impacts and costs on the operations based on the data architecture strategies in the current operating environments
• Participates in data access strategies in terms of data availability, accuracy and security
• Contributes to the definition, implementation and support of the enterprise repositories, meta-data requirements, strategies, directions, policies, procedures and frameworks
• Follows the standard ITIL processes  
• Works with  Project Managers and the Release Manager to obtain stakeholders buy-in
• Sees to the adequate quality level of the deployed solutions working with the ETL, Database and Reporting primes and ensures that the vendors are brought in to resolve issues about their respective systems when needed.
• Conducts periodic audits on the systems to ensure the Global security and integrity of the BI solution
• Works with the Supervisor to define the List of Service Level Agreement (SLA) or Service Level Requirements (SLR) the Department can offer or should request so the responsibilities of activities are well defined
• Participates in the identification and definition of the Key Success Factors and Key Performance Indicators for the Department Objectives evaluations.
 
Requirements:
Experience:
• 5+ years working in BI and DWH environment as Data Analyst, Data Modeller and/or BI Solution Architect.
• knowledge and experienced in BI and DWH implementation of end to end solution: Extract from source systems, Storage of information and Presentation of information through Reports and/or Dashboards
• Experience with Oracle, Sybase, MySQL databases
• Competitive Knowledge Experience in designing and implementing large Data Bases with particular attention to security, scalability and high performance
• Experience with a full system development lifecycle and development methodologies (RUP, RAD, JAD, OOD, Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall)
• Experience working within a project management framework
• Experience working on systems with large data volumes and heterogeneous transactional environments (OLTP, Process Control, OLAP, grid computing, MPP and SMP systems)
• Experience with Enterprise Storage Technologies (SAN, NAS, Replication, Storage Libraries, etc.)
• Experience with data modeling tools and data management principles  
 
Qualifications:
• Bilingual (French, English)
• Ability to define BI/DWH  solution based on Business Requirements provided by Business Analysts
• Knowledge and performed data profiling  
• Knowledge and produced ETL Specifications (source to target mappings), Workflow Specifications and DB SQL Scripts
• Knowledge and made use of ERWIN data modeling tool
• Knowledge and performed Dimensional data modeling, process modeling and object-oriented analysis and designs
• Knowledge and made use of the Informatica suite of products
• Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
• Knowledge and made use of Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Access and Project  
• Enterprise Data Modelling – an asset
• Knowledge of TOGAF, eTOM, SID, TAM, FCAPS & ITIL – an asset
• Knowledge of Business Objects, SAS and Cognos – an asset
